Adama Traore

The question is: do you want us to sign Adama Traore? As many as are of that opinion say

This is the problem. Nuno wanted him from the off, Fab and Hitch were not convinced. His performances this season have now convinced them, but those performances have also pushed his price up.

This one pretty much rests on Mendes, as to whether it happens or not.
Never thought I'd be cheering for Mendes to do his business but here I am.

Yeah I'm still not sold. Jena's did a good analysis on him yesterday I thought. Just doesn't play with his head up.

His physique, one of his biggest strengths could also be his biggest weakness. I agree with others that he might well be a ticking time bomb for major injury or just not be able to play as long.

Thanks Trix, I suspected that perhaps Fab was not convinced so interesting to hear that he is now onboard, hopefully he has a hidden gem lined up should this one not transpire.

What objective information are you basing that on with regards to his physique leading to an injury? So because the guy is in great shape he is MORE likely to get injured? Seems to be reverse logic to me. There are not a lot of players who look like him, so I am not sure where the evidence would come from? It's anecdotal, but Ronaldo who keeps himself in great shape, has stood up pretty well.

In seasons past I reckon this is one of the type of transfers Levy would have pushed through for the manager. Not normal times though is it. Seems a huge deal to do with so little time left. Let's hope it doesn't piss Nuno off too much if we cant get him in. I'm sure we will keep trying.

My knowledge of world football has been shit for years but I can’t recall any professional player coming close to Traoré’s physique + pace combination.

Can anyone point me in the direction of someone even remotely similar? Never seen anything like it and I find his ability to retain speed whilst bulking up really fascinating.
Antonio? He can be unplayable on his day.

If Nuno wants him, I want him... I just can't remember the last time we signed a prem sides' top player (or one of their top players) it doesn't seem to be what we do usually (presumably because £££££££££££)

A rugby player rather than a footballer but one person who came to mind was the late Jonah Lomu, who was built like a tank but was also very quick.

Wolves being linked with Marseille CB supposedly. Funnily enough West Ham and us are mentioned, cites Wolves as having uphill struggle to convince the player as he wants European football.

Still, Wolves might just need a few quid if they're indeed after FWs and CBs. ?

Botman (Lille), Caleta-Carr (Marseille), and Adarabioyo (Fulham) are the three I've seen linked to Wolves.

All 6ft4+.

I'd offer them Rodon on loan as a sweetener, and allow Tanganga more minutes at CB, and Paskotsi / Davies as back up.

I am simply not convinced that he offers the best value in a forward for us. Both in terms of style of play and price, there surely must be better options in this window?

Yep, pretty much the CBs I've seen linked to them.

Not sure about offering up Rodon as a sweetener, Personally think he's going to turn into a very smart acquisition and and excel.

I actually agree but can't think of any who are obviously available and would improve us significantly.

Loan Rodon without option to get minutes is what I meant, rather than be 3rd/4th CB and Tanganga 2nd RB and 5th CB.

Anyway looks like they're going big for Botman, which could be interesting for us.

If they can get Guedes, as two quality players is probably the only circumstances where selling Traore would be smart business for them.

All eyes on their incomings now!

This Spanish report says that Valencia wants to ideally keep Guedes now and that he apparently wants to stay too.

Not looking good for Traore!

Well Edouard is certainly cheaper, but of course CF as opposed to winger.

We basically can’t loan Rodon right now. If the international travel situation doesn’t get a resolution from the Government it’s going to be a struggle to get Romero into the team with any regularity before January. Even Sanchez starts to become problematic. And that’s already assuming they take ‘short’ breaks and come back after one game, which isn’t guaranteed.
