Traore has a contract with them, we’ve not much insight into what we’ve offered them nor do we have any insight into whether Wolves’ desired replacement has materialised or not.

I don’t think Paratici and Mendes can hypnotise the powers that be at Wolves into selling just because we want them to. ?

There are “special relationships” and the kind of special relationship where a dodgy relative is making you do stuff that you don’t want to do and I don’t think the Mendes/ Wolves thing is the latter ?

Mendes has 10 players and a manager at Wolves - including some of their most 'valuable' players in Neto, Neves, Semedo, Podence, Trincao - so he certainly has more influence than most agents would (or maybe 'should') have over 1 club.

He's put himself in a position where he could make things quite difficult for Wolves if he really wanted to, which is why so many are wary of our club getting too closely involved with him.

Odd thing about this is late introduction of Mendes’s involvement, specifically to make the move happen.
It’s in Mendes interest to get a deal over the line so he’s seen to fulfil his (temporary) clients wishes.
It’s also in Mendes interest as he’ll get Wolves their replacement also.
Wolves position is in the balance. They want to keep their star forward, in the same way we do, however they are tied to Mendes and his wishes due to the amount of players he sends their way.

Ultimately, I think this deal will get done late on tomorrow so long as Wolves make the squad additions they need. I think the price will be more than we would have liked to pay, but if it gets Nuno a key piece of the puzzle, it should be worth it.
