Traore Thursdays, just happens to be for a different club :cautious: all those blinking emojis for him to sign for another club, it does crack me up.

Eccleshare says we have alternatives and will be trying to wrap that up but sounds like getting Doherty out needs to happen first.

Of course it does. I said it earlier, cant have three players fighting it out for one spot. It is nonsensical

It never seemed like the Traore deal was contingent on Doherty leaving. Seems odd that Doherty's being brought into the conversation now.

Well at least least Doherty is bound to have tons of suiters queueing up for his signature...:cautious:

When Diaz falls through I wonder how quick people will start saying he’s not Conte’s choice? No way we spent all of January chasing Traore for Conte to have not wanted him lol, I’m not buying that.

It did. We were trying to swap him into the deal at the start with him going back to wolves.

Not sour grapes.... wouldn't have thrown myself off the nearest bridge if we got Traore, but certainly won't now we aren't.
His stats are absolute dogshite, no gaurentee he would have been nothing more than a headless chicken judging by those stats.

If Conte thought he could convert him into a decent RWB, my question is why hasn't he tried that with Bergqwuin or Moura....it's not as if Doherty or Emerson were any use.

Think it's because we don't have any depth for forward positions, plus he wanted to try Royal there, and Bergwijn seemed on the way out to Ajax. If we got Diaz then we could shift one of them at RWB probably.

Yeah but that hasn't been discussed since as it seemed like Wolves weren't interested.

It's not like all the talk around the Traore deal this past week has been "SPURS NEED TO OFFLOAD DOHERTY TO DO THE DEAL". I got the impression that selling Doc was always a preference rather than a need and the Traore deal would be done regardless.

Whether you wanted this deal to go through or not, nobody can deny the transfer planning of this club is ridiculous & always has been.

27 days of the window have led to this & us scrambling for other options ...

But it would have left us with three players for the right wing back role. We were never going to be in that position. We'd of had to have tried to get doherty out somehow.

I still think we will get one but it will be a left field choice if we move doherty on.

I understand regards Moura ,but Bergqwuin getting game time at rwb might have made him want to stay, I think he has alot of qualities to be a decent RWB, far better imo than Traore .

I really don't understand how we do business , there is not a transfer window that has taken place in the last 5 years where we do business early on and get our targets in. It's always last minute and we don't end up getting any quality.

The player was never going to come while Barca held interest. That would be true for just about any player but especially one who came through La Masia. All window long it's been reported that Barca saw Traore as the primary option if their negotiations to extend Dembele's contract were unsuccessful, and that's exactly what has happened.

I'm as frustrated as anyone that our business has not come off but what can you do when the likes of Juve and Barca get involved in the players you're chasing? It's down to Paratici now to pull together deals on a short timeframe. Things aren't looking good at the moment but let's see how the window ends.

So it seems that we messed Traore around all month taking too long to complete the deal, then Barca came in and done the deal in an afternoon.. this is not a new thing we are known for this disrespecting of players we are after.. as a result quite a few players have said they would never entertain Tottenham because of their way of doing business..
Loan until the end of the season and 30 million Euros with no obligation :-(
