Adebayor, can he drill/drive a ball?

This makes no sence, you are presuming that JD would have been able to be in the same position and contributed to the build up in the same way that Ade did.

I really think that some people on here dont watch any footie outside Spurs, every player missed chances, not every playr gets 2 in 2! Its just sheer stupidity, how many players get hatricks in a season, the way some of you are talking it would be a regular occurance!

Defoe is not always the strongest finisher either, his goal yesterday was tailor made for his rapid right foot. VdV is really the most natural finisher at the club, he is calm, can shoot with power or just place it.

Darrent Bent scores 1 goal for every 3 chances he gets, Hernandez is even better than that. But none of them are as involved in, and central to, their team's build up play.

I really think Adebayor is in the right team because we will continue to create loads of chances for him.

Doesn't like the ball under his feet I think ... he does have long legs ... maybe that's the problem?

It's not pure luck or coincidence that he gets himself in loads of goalscoring opportunities. His movement and anticipation is top drawer.

He is no more wasteful than Defoe.

If you want a wasteful finisher, take a bow Luis Suarez.

my point, jamturk, is that both the club and the fans always strive for improvement. this is not to be misread as an attack on adebayor or to be read as me calling him shit. i'm just saying it would be great if he hit a few a bit harder and bit more directly. his positioning and ability to fight for chances is good though.

He's no Peter Crouch that's for sure.

That boy can strike a ball! (not that the ball would know)

What ever the asking price is for Adebayor we should buy him. Even when his not scoring his movement intelligence strength speed hold up play is perfect for how were now playing. our wide players will ripe the benefits of having such a striker....I just hope we conclude the deal in Jan his already proved himself IMO...CLASS

Just read this ...

Adebayor fired in nine shots on target against West Bromwich Albion, more than any other player in any Premier League game in the last five-and-a-half seasons.

If he keeps scoring, can they recall him once Tevez gets his move? Or have we some clause that means we have an option to sign that can't be revoked?

I'm pretty sure if the loan is from a club in the same league you can't put a recall clause in the contract. Also he'd never agree to going back!

And more than 7 premier league clubs have done in a single game this season. (thanks opta joe) Credit to him his movement is top drawer, he works his arse off and interlink play is class. Fingers crossed Sir Les/ Arry will get his confidence up for shooting. Def not a lack of ability always seemed to score belters against us for the goons.

Im sure this will happen soon. Also, can anyone imagine Crouch even getting into all those positions against West Brom to have 9 shots on target? Let alone the link up play etc in the build up. Such an improvment. As someone said he didnt play at all last year...he's gradually getting better and better and look at his record for us already! Futures bright.

His side foot is terrible for shooting, his tekkers were awful against west brom. His penalty the 90min goal were all very fortunate to go in, it was like he had blisters on his big toe. I'm not surprised because he was the same at arsenal, but at least he's getting into scoring positions.

Certainly seems to have missed quite a few one on ones in the last couple of months, but in 10 matches he's scored 7 and had 6 assists so I'm happy. Those stats, are good.

Reckon he'll keep scoring for the rest of the season. Other defenders don't relish playing against him either.

Spurs fans:

Cry out for striker with a bit of class then complain he isn't as good as he is on FIFA with you controlling him playing against your 2 year old cousin, whose blind, and has no arms.

No striker exists that people are describing. Not one. Not even Messi. Not even Ronaldo.

So I'm gonna go ahead and dismiss most of the posts in here that are moaning, because what you seek does not exist.

Gah!

Not missing a pen and scuffing/fluffing multiple clear efforts on goal doesn't exist? Oh.
