The simple fact is that the chant IS racist, it's just whether that bothers you or not. Seriously, you can't argue that it's not racist – the chant is based purely on Adebayor coming from Africa, and that is the only way it is funny, so is in fact entirely focused on his race and its stereotypical quirks. And yes, calling Lee 'Bruce' and 'Noodles' and whatever is very much racist too.
It doesn't offend me at football games because I've heard a lot worse and I expect a lot worse, and playing on racial/sexual/geographical stereotypes can be amusing (however guiltily), but I certainly wouldn't join in singing.
This sums it up perfectly for me, Yes it is racist and sometimes some sterotypes can be slightly amusing but personally I wouldn't choose to get involved as its not the sort of humour I find funny. Plus the song sounded shit in the clips posted so why bother ?
