Don't think AvB is the stubborn type. I think theres more to 'not performing in training' and pointless to speculate why Ade isn't playing.

What everyone agress on (i think) is for the type of wages and ability Ade commands he cannot be wasted on the bench let alone outside of the firs team. It is the manager's responsibility to do something about it but thus far nothing. Although not half way through season yet and with results going our way he has time..

What I have found interesting is Defoe came out a few weeks back backing Adebayor saying he should be training with the 1st team. And now Walker has stated he is training hard. 2 of the most longest serving players in the squad.

Basically they want him in the team and undermining AVB.

Avb is cutting off our nose for his own sake.
And i remember a couple of world class players saying negatives things about fergie, and that didnt end well for there careers at utd.
Defoe and Walker should be a little more careful about which horse there backing. especially one called adebayor.

Walker is coveted by Chelsea and Defoe is entering the twilight. Don't think they give a toss mate.

Read between the lines and it's quite obvious what's going on here.

Danny rose seems to be in this little circle as well which is worrying.
I hope this not the chelsea thing again, all the more reason to get shot of ade and quick if true

Fine Defoe, he can have your spot.

AVB when at chelsea, certain players didnt like him and the changes he was brought in to do.
Que unhappy dressing room, we dont want that shit here.
Fergie did it best, the club is bigger than one player simples

It really depends what goes on in training. If Ade is working as hard as everyone else then fine, he should be picked. I get the feeling that he doesn't, although I could be wrong. If you pick someone like that ahead of someone like Kane, who I have no doubt works very hard in training, it sends the wrong message to the players. It suggests you won't be picked on merit.

We've already sent him the wrong message. He trained hard, got a chance off the bench, looked as dangerous as anyone has for us this season, guy was rewarded with... Being sent back to the U21's.

I'm sure another jumping ahead of him in the queue isn't going to make much difference. Our youngsters should be well used to it by now.

Adebayor has to come back into the squad, we miss someone who can link up the play. I don't expect him to, but he would potentially provide a lot of what we lack.

@NEVILLEB you're being as lazy as he is, there are already loads of Adebayor related freds, the first one is all the way back on.....Page 2.

AVB says he has no beef with Ade, he'd say so if he did as he's clearly not afraid to speak his mind after coating the shit support at the Lane. Oh and without Ade we still have four strikers in Defoe, Soldado, Kane and Lamela.

AVB froze out Ekotto without telling us why, so I'm sure he could do the same with Adebayor.

Lamela isn't a striker, he's a forward. Kane has made 1 premier league performance for Tottenham.

Absolute Bobbins as usual.

Remember peeps Walker and Defoe will be told what say to the press and will be used to put out 'the spurs line'.

Ade is needed big time - but I'm hoping but not sure we will see him.

Yeah but ade is more suited to being up top alone & going and looking fir & making his own chances (and creating them for others too)

You can't make a chance if you don't passed the ball. Simply pass it to the guy who is there now and let him do it. The midfield and the wingers are not passing to him and are not creating. Neither wide man is crossing the ball, changing a the guy nobody is passing to will have no effect at all.

There are other things to change instead of suggesting our problems are the fault of a striker not creating chances when he doesn't get the ball.

Is Townsend suddenly going to start pinging crosses over for him? No he will continue to cut in and shoot. Who happens to be standing in the middle is irrelevant, he isn't going to pass to them. Put the ball across the box and Soldado will put it away.

When we are doing that and he is missing then you may have a point but until then a change is pointless. You have to sort the wide men before you sort anything else.

Difficult to know if he's burnt his bridges with AVB following the ACN return debacle and his poor effort last season, or if he still isn't training well.

Would be a shame if he really is giving his all and despite that he's not getting a look in. But for all we know, he may be taking the piss on the training pitch. AVB gave him plenty of chances last season, despite some truly diabolical performances.

It's not AVB's fault, it's a few players not giving the striker the balls he wants

He has big squad, if the problem is with few players he has means to replace them. If everyone is playing too safe and building up too slowly, well then I wouldn't be looking at the individual players.

I did an interview with Kyle last Monday, off the record he said the group get on very well and are ambitious and back each other's ability to be challengers, said that's why he signed his contract.

It's funny how we lined up with this vs Everton:

Soldado
Lennon - Holtby - Townsend

When you consider that the attack we might put out in a cup match soon is theoretically better:

Adebayor
Kane - Eriksen - Lamela

I think you might have missed my point a bit, which is that it seems to me that Adebayor is more adept and more likely to go looking for the ball himself and is more likely to create chances for himself even (and especially) when he is not getting wing service.

I always found it very frustrating about Adebayor that he would spend so much time in the corners and just outside the box to either side battling to win the ball there when I thought he ought to be in the middle of the box waiting for service. Well ... that annoying trait may well be a strenght in our setup because he goes roaming looking for the ball himself, he does not rely on others to ping it in for him.

People have very, very short memories about Ade, he has showed a total lack of respect for our club and the rest of his team mates. He has done what everyone else said he would do play well till he gets his contract then do fuck all. His performances last year cost us, how many times was he one on one with the keeper only to dink it into the keepers arms? How long did he fuck about after the ACN? AVB and the rest of our coaching staff see what goes on in training and in my opinion Ade will get game time if he deserves it. Get shot of him in Jan, if possible, there is a reason he hasn't gone sooner....... Other clubs knows exactly what he like.
