Does anybody know what is the situation with Adebayor? Is he even training? What's happening with him? I'm kinda sick of his mega wages if he can't deliver any goods.

I think he is back now.

On his instagram he posted a pic of his family and he wrote "back from togo"

Obviously not aware of how long he's been off etc but I hope he is back now. We all understand dealing with tragedy is unbelievably difficult and sensitive but at the end of the day, anyone who suffers loss has to get back to normal.
I'm not expecting him to be Wilson Palacios and offer to play the day after his brother died but he does have to get back to work.

He must have been off for more than 2 weeks, and it'll take at least another 2 weeks for him to get fit.

The story about his brother broke just before the Sunderland game.
He wasnt involved against South China (i am sure he wasnt on the bench at all)

Not sure if he stayed with the squad until they came back or went after the Sunderland game as the OS have been poor with training photos since the tour out there

TBH i'm not concerned. There are more important things in life than Football and i'm glad that we as a club gave him all the time he needed.

He might well be back, and never took two weeks off, whether AVB has any intention of playing him though is another matter... We have had a few mysterious absentees in pre-season. BAE the main one, Holtby another who we think is injured but no-one knows for sure.

We have two fit strikers, so I'm not worried. But I would like to keep Adebayor. I think we have good options with those three.

Holtby has said he is injured on Facebook, Assou-Ekotto however has said on Twitter that he isn't injured.

What I meant was that the club are useless in informing the fans what is happening with these players. I mean do they expect them not to notice certain players missing? It's been up to the players themselves to update the situation, if you get someone more private and not into social media then you really have no idea what the situation is with them.

I hope he's okay and pulls through this - a family bereavement is a terrible thing

That said, if he plays to the level that we know he can, it would be massive for us - like a £20m striker signing!

God there are some heartless **** in this thread! The guys brother has just DIED!!!!!!

He should be able to take as much time off as is necessary to get over a terrible tradegy. Please put your personal opinions on Ade to one side and cut the guy some slack FFS!!

Perhaps the club do this for tactical reasons.

Not only will opposition managers be kept in the dark before games against us, keeping quiet on injuries also helps us in the transfer market. If everyone knew that, say, one of our strikers was out for the whole season, the prices of strikers we were looking at could potentially rise.

Just a thought.

Oh yeah i agree with you, was just giving you an update if you never knew, it's weird how distant clubs are from fans even though they are only a club because of the fans.
