Funny how he stopped doing the dance after Chris Foy gave him 'that look'.

He's done the salute for the Goons before.

Bale has made money by trade marking his goal celebration. So i guess every plyer wants their own trade mark. Image rights etc...

I remember him doing it for Real Madrid when he scored against us in the Champs League as well.

But for now let's hope we see it lots more this season!

That was my thought. Maybe he's showing Anelka how to salute without being offensive ;). I love Ade's salute anyway. Anyone know what the latest is on Anelka anyway?

The case isn't being heard until the end of the month, but he's injured atm so not playing.

Good old Keano, combining the worst cartwheel and the worst forward roll for years and getting away with it.

I like Ade's salute, as mentioned it's better than the dancing.

I thought it was for his late brother, but if he was doing it at Real it can't be.

I'm not so sure he's on the downward slope of his career to be honest. He's never really relied on his pace. At times he reminds me a little bit of Drogba, who was a player that seemed to get stronger and more effective once he hit his 30s. Other players like Forlan played their best football in their 30s as well.

I agree, and my point wasn't at all pertaining to his play, but simply that he's getting older in a career that most would consider "journeyman" throughout some of Europe's top clubs. I'm sure at this point he'd like a club he can call his own.

Judging by his play this year, I'd say it gives a lot of credence to him pointing out his injury and the Africa CoN last year as major obstacles that barred his ability to get a rhythm with last year's team.

I thought it could have something to do with him making fun of the whole mercenary thing.

Bale has made nothing from that awful trademark, it has cost him money and made him look a tool.

Unless he brings out merchandise I can't see him ever making money from it

No idea what Ade's salute is about, but I salute him since his return to the fold, it don't bear thinking about where we'd be without him.
Ade, I salute you sir !
