5 year contract !
Adel will be shown the door this summer, as wonderful as he is skill wise he will not listen to any advice or tactics.
Also another youngster young Rosie has been pulled in and told to shape up or ship out, his attitude is worse than Lennon when he first arrived and the bright lights of London and the wannabe gangstar mentality ensured he was hauled up in front of Ramos a few weeks back. This comes from Rose's dad himself.

Sounds fishy to me.

Sounds fishy to me.

Clive has taken Taarabt off in virtually every reserve game he's started this season, basically out of frustration that he's ignored instructions and indulged in his show-pony tricks rather than played for the team. See BOF's reports and those on Spurs Odyssey. This would suggest that he does have major problems in listening to what he's told, or at least in acting on it.

Rose seems to have given little if any cause for complaint on the pitch, but if his Facebook entry (linked here by Keano when our interest first surfaced) is anything to go by, a wannabe gangsta attitude is precisely what he has. It would hardly be surprising, and it would hardly be surprising if the club wasn't concerned, either.

A lot of what I hear will be 'party line' of course.

Info comes in fits and spurts and there's just been a lot of late because everyone's interested and asking questions (Modric's fault!).

Like the 'Ledley King is fighting fit' party line and there isn't really anything wrong long term with his knee!!??

Hope its true, would be good to hang on to our youngsters.

Agree with the talk of a loan, would be a good for him to learn some responsibility first hand and get regular first-team experience.

I'm gonna stick my neck out and say Adel Taarabt will not make it at Tottenham.

Talk about gangster mentality, we sure can do with some on the field.

Not sure what you understand by gangster mentality, but fragile self-esteem, an absence of self-respect and a no work ethic, are not really what we need.

The situation with Taarabt is very simple. He's got talent to spare and could well be a sensation. However at the moment he's a ridiculous player who can't/won't pass to team mates and attempts to beat the same player 3 times before doing anything.

If Ramos believes he can coach team play into him then it's worth him staying. But I do think he's got to learn how to be a footballer rather than a show pony this season or else he'll be off.

how do you figure he has low self-esteem and respect?

I was referring to he concept of gangster mentality, a corrosive influence on young minds, not to Adel. But arguably anyone who tries so hard to impress all the time does have some self-esteem issues.

It is interesting to compare him with someone like Gascoigne at the same age, who was a cocky little sod who was selfish and irresponsible on the pitch, but whose football had a mindless joi de vivre. I do not get the same sense from Taarabt.
