I still think Kondogbia could be a great foil for someone like Bentaleb. Would probably cost 20m but at 22 has shitloads of potential built into that price. Has the tools for the EPL IMO. Big, strong, athletic but had good technique too.

This is, I don't think it hurts him that much to be honest. The amount of times I've seen him play and you know which way he is going to go and what he will probably do, he still gets past players somehow, it's as though they either dont know whcih way he will go or that even if do its hard to stop him

ALL multimillion earning one footed Prem players need beating with the one-footed stick .When I started training with a small club it was all the coach was on about , it seemed important back in the day. Its a big handicap especially for a forward...and a basic need for dribbling . Look at how defenders place themselves in front of say Lamela and how effective they are in stopping his dribbles . Dembo too . Same with right footers of course .
60s heroes like Best or Greaves were two footed , dunno why there's so many one footers about these days .

it's only the left footers who are focused on though, there must be some reason as to why that is. lamela's problem is that he has no acceleration and has the power of a piece of wet paper, not because he's one footed. dembele shifts onto his left, shields the ball and holds players off. i agree with @Bus-Conductor in that dembele's problem is that once he's done that he meanders back towards the same player he's just beaten or gives them time to come back at him. his ability to hold onto the ball is both a blessing and a curse.

Yep. Not to mention there is no chance in hell Daniel will pay 20-25m for anyone again any time soon, as every other signing he's made over 15m has yet to work out. Some people on this board refuse to believe there isnt a shot in hell we'll get him though.
Remember Schneiderlin came from lower leagues.
When he was Bentaleb's age he was playing in League 1, and when he was Mason's age he was playing in the Championship.
Signing Alli is like signing Schneiderlin when Southampton did. We just don't have the track record (until this season), of actually backing our young players and being a bit patient with them.

I don't think he is all that. Jedinak has better numbers on Whoscored.com and plays for a worse team. Will also cost less (but older).

You've just named two wildly average players to replace an above average player.
I repeat Morgan is the best midfielder in the PL after matic and he is also HOMEGROWN ... we should all over it if he is really available for 20m only !!! i would sell capoue, stambouli and paulinho and bring schneiderlin. then we will have bentaleb , mason , alli and Morgan for the cm spots to compete with ...
