His 6ft 1" which is tall for a right back. I think if true ramos has clocked on that we lack height at the back. My mate in scotland said the deal looks off because our player rejected them! and that man is WAYNE ROUTLEDGE

Blimey this rumour has everything. Acceptances, rejections from one player, rejections from another, scotsmen.

Tremendous.

someone posted this abut radio clyde:

That's what's being reported on Radio Clyde, who don't have a great track record for accuracy. The hacks who are claiming this are in David Murray's pocket, so there could well be an element either of wishful thinking here, or of trying to flush out other bidders. I'd wait till Tottenham confirm before believing it.

Still, Tottenham do have a history of paying slightly over the odds for slightly under-top-quality players, so it could well be true. £8m is too much, IMO. £6m would be my limit.

seriously. shouldn't we be asking the player secretly if he wants to come before making a bid?. saves us the embarassment.

We do things the correct honest way, that may cause us embarassment some times but it also sends the right message to clubs who will then do business with us.
Even Old Batesy commended us on the way we behaved in the Danny Rose purchase which is why he was ok when we approached Leeds about Gus Poyet.

Not that I'm sure this rumour is true!

Have to say that Radio Clyde is a new one on our radar. Always exciting to have new sources of nonsense.

I'm sure u can ask an agents client whether he could be interested in joining if they were to make a formal bid. What you can't do however is make him and his client an offer without their clubs permission

That is credible. Routledge has rejected other moves and it looks a lot like first Jol and now Ramos have been instructed to freeze him out, so as to force him on his way. But the bugger is clinging on like a limpet. He is only going to leave on his terms.

Well that is 8 million saved. We can't afford defenders who can't defend. We have a lot of them but we can't afford them or any more. Maybe if we had a more competent back line he would have been good, but at this time he would have compounded our issues.

Huttons form over the past year has been excellent. If we signed him and he could keep his current form up and produce it for us week in week out, we'd be laughing at signing for £8million. Hope he hasn't turned us down
