How is it even possible that he's the ref for Manure after the game against City?!?

Did well to give Jones' 2-1 goal just now. So many refs would just blow for a Man U free kick automatically there.

With Manure trailing at half, I decided to track time added on for the 2nd half. I think there will be 5 minutes.

4 mins added. They need just over three to score.

Well, at least we can't really complain about that....

Sunderland went down to ten men after Richardson lost his head and kicked the ball away for a second yellow and his team mates panicked in the last ten minutes. They just didn't keep the ball under pressure - a bit like Spurs really.

ALEX FERGUSON blasted referee Alan Wiley for not being fit enough to do his job.

Furious Fergie ripped into the official after seeing his side nick an injury-time equaliser against 10-man Sunderland.

The Manchester United boss raged: "The pace of the game demanded a referee who was fit. He was not fit. It is an indictment of our game.

"You see referees abroad who are as fit as butcher's dogs. We have some who are fit. He wasn't fit.

"He was taking 30 seconds to book a player. He was needing a rest. I think he's taking a rest writing down names on his card. It was ridiculous."

Anton Ferdinand's 93rd-minute own goal gifted the champions a point.

HAVE A BLOW ... Alex Ferguson reckons Alan Riley was taking a much-needed breather as he booked players

But Ferguson felt Wiley should have played more than the four minutes of added time that was signalled.

The Old Trafford chief said: "He didn't add on any time for the goal. He played four minutes and two seconds.

"He was also walking up the pitch for the second goal needing a rest. He was not fit enough for a game of that standard."

Ferguson made his feelings known to fourth official Mike Dean during the game and angrily jabbed his finger towards him.

United twice came back from a goal down to earn a point against Steve Bruce's Sunderland battlers.

Darren Bent's crisp opener was cancelled out by Dimitar Berbatov's skilful volley.

Ben Foster's gaffe allowed Kenwyne Jones to bundle Sunderland back in front before Ferdinand diverted Patrice Evra's wayward shot into his own net.

Ferguson insisted Foster was to blame for Jones' effort.

He said: "It was a soft goal to lose."

Sunderland were reduced to 10 men with five minutes remaining after Kieran Richardson was sent off for kicking the ball away, earning a second yellow card.

And Black Cats boss Steve Bruce blasted Richardson for his actions.

Bruce said: "It was stupid.

"It is hard enough to defend here with 11 players. These things happen in the heat of the moment but it could have cost us the game."

Bruce was left stunned as Ferdinand's own goal denied his side three points.

He added: "It is totally disappointing. I don't know what the stat is for the number of times Manchester United have done that but it is what makes this club what it is I suppose.

"It just proves you have to go down to the wire.

"Even when they don't play well, they always seem to get something out of it. They never give in."

Maybe he should spend more time focussing on why his team didn't win at home to Sunderland in the 90 minutes instead of ranting about wanting more injury time and unfit refs.

Fergie's such a prick, it's about time the FA threw the book at him now, give him a nice 10 match touchline ban

I personally thought that Richardson was tapping the ball back to where he thought the ball should be placed for the free-kick. The Utd players forced the ref into carding him and getting him sent off.

As for that scene with Fergie ranting at the 4th official - That was disgusting to see - he should be hauled up for that - but then again it is the "Big 4" being allowed to express themselves as usual.

What does Fergie have to do to cross the line?
He criticizied the ref after the Spurs game because of the Scholes sending off -almost everything else went their way and they repeatedly bullied him.
I hope they do something nasty to Fergie but it'll probably be a poxy fine at most.

i was so rooting for sunderland that game.

there was some thread on redcafe a few weeks ago that showed how manchester united were given ridiculous amounts of injury time at home when they were 1 goal behind. it started out as a liverpool bashing thread on how they always scored late in the game but turned out to be the referees favoured manchester united more.
