Thing is mate we don't know that we went for Martial at £60m and we also don't know if we're really going for Plea at £25m or going for him as an alternative to a supposed Martial interest.

All I really mean is lets just wait and see who we end up with first, there's not enough to suggest with such confidence that we've simply gone from Martial to Pléa.

I fully agree but on the likelihood-ometer, Spurs going for a seriously exciting player, having problems and signing a relative unknown for half the price is a solid 9 out of 10.

I'm pretty certain I'm not the only one who has had to google him, but....

Still can't believe we would pay 27m for a player who'll be backup to Kane and already has gone through knee Injuries twice.

Kinda hope West Ham are going to price this guy out of bargain territory, especially with the injury issues you mentioned.

Being linked with a player that is interesting teams from the lower half of the prem. & a newly promoted team doesn't instill any confidence in me personally as this transfer window progresses to business end of it.

The residing word over the majority of links and news (thus far, I know the World Cup is happening) is 'underwhelming'.

I can deal with us not getting martial but why are we trying for a shitty version of him, its not even like we’re desperate for someone in that position

So odd

I’ve read he’s 5’11”.

I don’t think we shouldn’t sign players from Ligue 1 just because of past failures. Would you not take Fekir for example (lol at the thought of us signing a Top-class player)

There’s a difference between signing the top class players from ligue 1, and taking a punt on someone Danny Rose will have to google.

Levy rummaging through the bargain basement again... :banghead:
Rummaging again ? He is always rummaging in the bargain bin, can’t help himself poor fellow, this window is the window where we have to put up or shut up as far a Pochettino is concerned-IMO
We only need three additions IMO if Toby stays.

As is my wont when considering Tottenham's transfer strategy, I approached Englebert Humperdinck for his views. Should we go for Martial despite the inherent difficulties of sealing the transfer or is there a bargain to be had with Plea?

Englebert said:

"Plea's release fee won't be low
So I don't love him anymore
To pay that price would be a sin
It's not easy, but go for Tony M".

Can't argue with Englebert Humperdinck. Martial it is.
