Is anyone as cynical as I and think this may be Toby pushing for his pay increase and he wont play for us again if he doesn't get it?

If you're right, we should get rid ASAP. I don't care how good a player he is, that would be a completely unprofessional way of going about things. If you're right and his attitude really does stink ('I'm not playing again until you give me a massive pay rise') he can sod off.

Please God you're completely wrong, and so is he about next April.

As I understand it the problem with his contract is isn't about pay its about a buy out clause. We wont give him one and he wants one.
But yeah I'm as cynical as you and thought crossed my mind.
Doubt it though.

It really highlights just how much it 's the 1st team strength that we are riding on. As soon as a few of the core players pick up knocks or form dips we begin to struggle. Also it appears we cannot play on all fronts (EPL and CL and the lesser cups)

We need investment in the squad to be able to compete with the other big teams in the league.

We shouldn't be too disappointed if we squeezed a 4th place and get a good CL run this season.

I'd have your bloody arm off for that as things stand.
