Is a shame for Pritchard and for Brentford too. They've been doing so well and it seems by not supporting their manager they're going to end up unravelling all the good work

Brentford manager Mark Warburton:

"That today was not Brentford; we were slow to the ball, we made poor decisions, we were sloppy in possession and quite simply we were not good enough. All credit to Charlton.

"It's too easy to say matters off the pitch had an impact today, but absolutely not.

"This group is better than that. There is too much quality in the group and as staff we would not allow it.

"I'm sure there will be another statement out this week to provide more clarity on my future."

I think it's disgusting how Warburton has been treated, Brentford's chairman should have been begging him to sign a 4 year deal.

Also, I think Villa missed a trick by not going for this guy instead of Sherwood.

Warburton's out at the end of the season. Club says he doesnt want to work within the new structure they want to have with a director of football and a head coach. Unreal. He's been great for them. Just promoted to the championship, has them fighting for promotional playoff position. Im not sure this is as much him not wanting to work in the structure as much as it is the club no longer wanting him. Sucks for their fans.

Hopefully he'll get a good job. The work he's done with Brentford has been phenominal.

Starts again, obviously, and Brentford are already one up against Bournemouth. Big, big game.

He's playing very well. Tuned in 15mins into game and commentators said he was outstanding. Fortunate for the freekick

Some great bits of play by Prithcard there, set up 2 great chances and a lovely bit of play in the corner.

Saw that the guy should have scored who he put through, and his feet by the corner flag were superb. Should have scored himself though, would have required a more creative finish but hammered it at the keeper got another assist though.

Cannot wait to see him back. I think he'd be a very complete No 10 in Poch's system with his quickness of play and thought, ability to open up space for himself on the dribble, shooting range, and ability to disrupt play in midfield with his press.

Quite a bit of conjecture here, but I think he may challenge Eriksen sooner than most (including myself) would have expected at the beginning of the season. He has the creativity of Eriksen, but he's much quicker with his action and playmaking, and I think that could be crucial. Eriksen can be annoyingly slow in his release or his own movement with the ball in his overly calm demeanor while he plays, and I think Pritch seems to have that spark that Eriksen lacks and is holding him back from being a truly outstanding No 10. Will be very interesting to see how this situation shakes out next summer.

Eriksen has been one of the biggest surprises to me in his inability to do things quickly. I expected from the likes of Paulinho, Dembele, Capoue but thought Eriksen would thrive on a quicker tempo, but that has not been the case.

Haha that's my ideal situation, but I'm saying I wouldn't be surprised to see Pritch pip a few first team games off Eriksen or move him to LW. Eriksen is outstanding quality, but I think from what I've seen and heard of Pritch that he seems unbelievably tailor-made to the No 10 role in Poch's system. His press and quickness of thought to in turn fling the ball into a dangerous position is something our first team is massively missing atm, as far too often we win the ball high up the pitch but then we hesitate and just pass sideways while the opposition reorganizes. We need more ruthlessness, and Pritch seems of the type who can provide it.

We can easily accommodate both. Pritchard can play anywhere across the AM3, but is better in the centre or ALM.
