Good luck to him, he really should be playing in the PL but I'm glad it's Brighton. Good club with obviously a very good manager.

I hope he absolutely tears the league to shreds and helps them get promoted. I also hope we've inserted a nice big sell-on clause for the future.

Perhaps a buy-back clause too!!

I think this is the perfect move for him. Hughton knows his ability and will use him right. There's a really good player in there but he needs to be starting every week and I'm not sure he would for a premier league team yet - and another season or two on the bench won't do him any good. A few seasons ago when Spurs were a bit lower down the league he would have got more game time but with his injuries I can understand why he didn't get the chance - a season at a promotion-bound team working his way up to the premier league really would be ideal.

Unfortunate this one, after the Brentford loan he looked like he was gonna come in and give Eriksen a run for his money for that no.10 spot. Injuries, a misjudged loan to West Brom and now the likes of Onomah and Edwards coming through have been one knock-back too many. Hope he goes and tears it up at Brighton now.

Quite surprised a West Ham, Swansea or someone didn't go in for him... Would improve both teams and they play football which would suit him too.

I think he had to drop to the championship. No way would a prem team take a chance on someone with so few minutes at West Brom last season. Good luck to him.

Is this because of the number of players over 21 that you can register? With players like Onomah and Edwards essentially free picks being under 21.

He's home grown and club trained so it actually kind of works against us with both quotas.

No one can argue under Poch you don't get a chance to impress so that fact Pritchard hasn't says it all.

Get rid, move on.

Am I the only one not surprised that AP is not in his plans? The guy is going on 23, he is slow, lacks tenacity, not an aggressive presser and physically small. I think he will thrive under another manager but he is not a Poch player. Not designed for the system.

We've got a younger better version in Edwards who is much more tenacious. I think Poch prefers to concentrate on players like him. Why are you all surprised and upset?

Not sure about a lot of that, he doesn't lack tenacity and is fairly aggressive presser, the description you'd made ironically more applies to Edwards who is widely criticised for his lack of work-rate and pressing, though I've noted it actually improved towards the end of the season.

Additionally Pritchard is probably the same size but better built than Edwards, and Edwards isn't particularly fast at top speed. Pritchard was a lot better fit for Pochs system and has been since for ages. I think the surprise is that Pritch has passed all his tests and fits Poch's system yet never got his chance. I reckon the reason Poch doesn't want him is because he is still a relative unknown having never played PL properly, 23, injured last year, AND we have potentially top class player coming through this year in Edwards, who, if he works on some key areas such as his tenacity, work-rate and physique could have a great season for us

I some ways I find this one even more baffling than Bentaleb. Bentaleb is a chippy fucker - I quite like that - but the stretch of imagination required to believe he may have got himself into Poch's bad books is far less than the one required to imagine Pritchard fucking him off.

Maybe, in hindsight, the loan to West Brom last back end was a first indicator that all was not well. It seemed fucking peculiar a the time.

The odd thing is, Pritchard has never shown the slightest sign of attitude problems. And on the pitch, he's answered nearly all the tests put before him with flying colours. His character seems to suit Poch's ethos, he's tenacious, works hard off the ball, is capable of following tactical instructions (was excellent for our academy teams, for Warburton to Brentford as the exceeded expectations and challenged for a championship play off place) creates, scores. He's more sure footed than the likes of Son & Chadli, he's better without the ball than the pair of them.

He may not have turned out to be the next big thing, but as a squad player I think 90% of people that had watched anything of him, and that's a pretty diverse cross section of this place, would have said he was worth a few games and a squad place. Many of us were looking forward to seeing him get some kind of chance.

To not even be taken on the tour (and other players for sale are on that tour) suggests something has happened behind the scenes to me.

As I've said above, I find it incredibly hard - especially after being left behind with the "not in my plans" damnation ringing in their ears - that this is purely about football.

Everyone knows Edwards is a very special talent, but your description of Pritchard is totally inaccurate on nearly all counts. He is tenacious, does press, isn't slow and does work hard without the ball - to most of us that have watched a shit load of him, we'd have said he was a far better match for Poch's system than the likes of Chadli, Townsend, Son etc. All of whom got plenty of game time under Poch.

Minor point but it's unfair to group Son with Townsend and Chadli IMO. Son has always worked much harder for the team than those two- albeit he's never reached Lamela levels. I was surprised that his work rate was so good when we signed him.

Yeah, Son works ok off the ball, much harder than Townsend and Chadli, where he's concerned I was more meaning his bumblyness, I think Pritchard is more sure footed and more creative (for example, I now this is the Championship, but he made almost double the key passes and assists as Son did last year).

Whether he had suffered injuries or not, he couldn't adjust to Poch's plan. i.e. Lennon is better player than Chadli and Pritchard, but he left our club. One reason of that was he couldn't adjust to the plan.
