Forgive me if I'm being an idiot as I have barely seen much of Scott, but I keep seeing people compare him to grealish but he seems more of a centre midfielder?

The very few highlights I've seen of him seem to show him doing most of his stuff from quite deep and he doesn't really get near the goal that much. Is it more that his style of play and movement matches grealish and not necessarily his position and output?
Yes

All I can say. Let us not waste this golden egg opportunity
Well said Trix... similar to when we were monitoring Maddison at Coventry....now forked over £40m and lost out on some very good years of his contribution (stats are very eye opening).

Unfortunately...I can't see it happening. Money needs to be invested in the starting eleven this season for Ange....or else?!?

I think you may be confused as to which ITK said this, maybe it was the uncharacteristic use of English 🤔

Such a shame. Seems due to having other priorities and timing we won’t go for him.

He's exactly the profile of player we should be signing and it'll be a shame if we don't do our best to get him. He won't cost a fortune and the potential upside is enormous. If he goes to Wolves and tears it up, the megaclubs will get him. We need to get these players in early, like we did with Dele.

I recall ITK before that we had a seperate budget for young players. I'm guessing the fee Bristol would demand exceeds any reserves we hold for potential.

I get that. But you should not restrict yourself to budgets when this type of talent becomes available. I would also guess that the majority of the fee would be add ons. The risk is low. Just do it Levy the boy and his family bleed white and blue.

If we didn't get him because of that, it would be nonsensical. It would mean we could only buy youngsters who weren't too good.

Big difference between 40m and the money we paid for dele.
The issue is these players aren’t cheap and more and we have major surgery to do to our team

If I was advising him I'd absolutely tell him to pick a club like Bournemouth or Wolves over us at this stage in his career tbh.

He needs guaranteed minutes and at a club like Spurs that's always a risk for a young player coming up from the Championship. Especially in a such a key midfield role.

On the other hand he'd likely start 90% of games at a bottom half team and really get the chance to develop.

If I was advising him, I’ll tell him to pick Tottenham tbh.

only cuz I’m a biased supporter 😂

You really should start all your posts with, "Do you realise..."

Hopefully not but depends how far our budget stretches as we have other positions of priority also.

But Scott does seem like another Grealish/Maddison type talent in the championship who’s a bit of a no brainer really.

Some players just ‘have it’ and he seems to be one of those.
I'm not sure how realistic it is, but I always feel that we should have a separate pot for these kind of players.
