Torres has hardly been a success

But spending £70million put the other players on their toes as they had become complacent, they had reached their comfort level. Ancelotti couldnt motivate them any more.

Jesus. This is exactly what is wrong with Spurs fans. The grass is always fuc%ing greener. Redknapp has come in, saved us from relegation and got us into the champions league, where we managed to get to the quarter finals, all whilst playing some incredibly entertaining football, and people want rid because we failed to finish above teams that have been established for years or have spent a shit load of money? I despair. Success comes from consistency, can't people see that?

The way Chelsea just disintegrated before the end of last year and only after Daddy buying them out of trouble did they turn it around. You are talking about double winners here. Does he still smoke 20 fags a day?

Torres really did the trick for them, didn't he?...

No. Thats wrong. They just picked up form. Ancelotti playing him, well Roman playing him was actually to the detriment of that team

And what about Abramovich sacking Wilkins for no apparent reason?

So now Roman Abramavich is picking the Chelsea team is he? So what has Ancelotti done to support your theory he can usurp Redknapp's feat with this squad? Maybe he'll let Levy pick the team.

So you are entirely happy then and think Red should have a statue made of him? I despair at supporters like you.

Have you forgotten about Shevchenko? Abramovich is a clown.

For starters, Ancelotti would bring us out of our stone age fascination with 4-4-2 and get us kicking the arses of the cannon fodder.

I've just repated a Jonathon Hotspur statement that "Roman picks Torres". Where's the stupidity in that post? And what has me being on the staff got to do with the opinion I offer up as part of a debate?

Are you telling me that Abramovich doesn't exert an influence on team affairs?

No I'm not entirely happy with how things have gone and I was incredibly disappointed that we threw away a great chance to play in the champions league again, but I also recognise that football isn't an all or nothing, 'quick lets get to the top next year or it'll never happen' kind of sport. I've seen us panic again and again when we don't deliver after 8 games. I've seen managers come and go in the space of a few months. It doesn't work. It has never worked. The best teams are those that have stuck with a manager who has shown that he can get the best out of a team. Redknapp has done this, and with a quality signing or two in the summer (which is going to be tough), who knows? Maybe we can push on. But if you want to spend the summer moaning about how we haven't signed Messi, and how Redknapp is tactically naive, go ahead, be my guest. I'll be sitting in the sun looking forward to next season.

It was pretty much common knowledge even among the lowly proletarian members such as myself that Torres was picked by dear Roman. He did spend 50m on him after all. You were being
supercillious.

LOL. Fair play mate. Make sure you apply plenty of suncream on your shoulders and the tops of your ears.

I get what your saying and I'm not advocating getting rid, even though I really dont like the bloke. Never have. Continuity is the key I accept that but Red WILL go next summer.

And red is tactically naive.

Let me get this right, so it is clear what you are supposing. You are telling us that Mr Abramovich selects Torres in the Chelsea line-up because he sanctioned a purchase of £50m for him. This selection overrides the tactical planning of his Manager, one Carlo Ancelotti, winner of a myriad of titles and a Manager who lays down and allows outside influence on his team selection. One Ancelotti to which this thread is dedicated, to warm the seat of a Manager some members would wish is sacked!!!

OK I'm sure that is what you are saying.

Redknapp is not capable of getting the best out of this team. He can't get his head around rotation, his transfer policy is bollocks, our players are lacking in basic fitness, he doesn't care much for tactics or coaching.

He puts a horse's head in Ancelotti's bed. Come on, PT-you know how it works.
