In the columns of Sport 10, currently on newsstands, we learn that Tottenham went on the offensive to get Andre Ayew free in June.

If the spirit of the Marseille president Vincent Labrune , André Ayew is the main player concerned when it comes to selling a large salary this winter to reduce the wage bill and pass the 'cut' of the DNCG end of the season, leaving the winter transfer window has become very unlikely.

TOTTENHAM IS THE NUMBER ONE CHOICE OF ANDRÉ AYEW

According to our information, a club emerges today in the spirit of the Ghanaian environment: it is Tottenham . The formation of Hugo Lloris has initiated a few weeks a concrete discussion with the clan André Ayew . Meetings have already been held for this purpose. Today, the Spurs have clear priority of the player because so sportingly and financially, they have the best offer. If Andre Ayew , meanwhile, would not be opposed to a start this winter if allowed Olympique Marseille to cash a small transfer. Tottenham however, does not intend to pay compensation transfer and therefore works with the aim of blocking the signing of Andre Ayew free in June. In this context, the contact is already well advanced. The track is hot, even no common ground has been found.

Got to be done. Pacey, versatile, and familiar with Bielsa tactics. All this for what would be undoubtedly cheap, if we even moved for him this month.

It really just makes sense to go for him. He fits a need, knows what's expected and he's good. Oh, and he should be cheap.

How is he compared to, for example, Konoplyanka? Is he quick? Can he score and create? His stats are not that impressive but if he's been playing under Bielsa, I assume he's good at intensive pressing...?

Would you mind replying in the Ayew thread I created, mate...?

On an individual basis I prefer Kono as I think he has a wider array of tricks, but that familiarity with Bielsa tactics to make a more rapid transition to Poch's system is what pushes him over the top IMO. Also, Ayew is very ambidextrous like Konplyanka, and he can also play on either wing.

Yes, he does press. Take for instance that in only 15 games, he's already attempted more tackles this season than Lennon did last season in 27 games. His tackling success rate isn't as strong as Lennon's, but in the press that's less relevant since the point is that it slows down the ball-carrier to allow for other players nearby in the press to pounce.

I wouldn't worry about his creative stats (although they're not bad), as of Marseille's three AM's he's the option that gets on the end of the creative plays rather than producing them, such as Payet and Thauvin.

Some very good frees about this summer. Vlaar, Delph, Ings and Ayew. All quality squad players and would let us get out high earners in Ade, Lennon, Kaboul and Paulinho.

Konoplyanka and Milner as well within our scope of realistic options. Really are some fantastic options around who could improve us.

Ayew, Delph, Ings, and Moreno in would likely cost under 25m total this January and would improve us immensely, and we could likely come close to matching that with the rumored loan to buy fees for Paulinho and Chiriches alone. Add Lennon and Naughton to likely departures, and we've improved for a profit.

Yep, our squad is bloated with players who can't play in Poch's system. I only really trust maybe 4 of our reserve XI to play in the first team (Davies, Dembele, Andros, Stambo). The rest are marked steps down. All the above are players who, on the face of it, would be much better fits for Poch and would have 6 months I adjust as squad options and then battle for first XI next season.

I don't, however, think we'll see anything like this amount of movement and would, instead, be delighted if we were able to get all those in by August 31st.

I agree, think there's very little chance of Ings to begin with, and I do think Levy would try to get Poch to accept Ayew in the summer. It's also strange we've seen nothing else about Moreno, unless Levy and Espanyol are just haggling over the price. Also a possibility that Roma's interest in Chiriches has feigned, thus leading us to be less interested in this window.

I do hope to see at least Lennon, Naughton, and Paulinho out as they seem rather realistic possibilities, and they would open up our possibilities a good bit (of course with only that count, that would only leave us with one non-HG slot open).

Yeah, reckon those three are all likely to depart with Kabs as well. Would mean a player like Ayew would be very good at a cut price this window as would cover Paul and Lennon going

Has he been that good this year (genuine question as I haven't seen him play this year)? I just checked his stats and he only has 3 goals and 3 assists in 15 games.
