Mr Gray has made some very interesting points but on the wide scheme of things I think his comments are not very realistic or researched as it could have.

Contrary to what Mr Gray thinks, Ramos had inherited a team of players he had never worked with before, in a league he had never played or managed in before, taking said team from bottom three to mid table while winning a cup all within in four months and Mr Gary now questions his pedigree?

Compounded it the fact that he states that Spurs is a cup side and under Ramos will continue to do so as he Ramos has no experience. Hello?? I just recalled a not so big midtable club called Sevilla who Ramos took from mediocrity and turned them to one of the big clubs in the Spanish league, getting them into the Champions league via their league position and not the cup. Remember them Mr Gray?.

I agree we do need consistency, but to dismiss our last two 5th place finishes because of a very poor start to this season, sound more like a media pundit struggling for material to write. What does that make other teams who finished lower in the league than us? I would really rather us to take our time and build so when we do get into the CL, we stay there and not be one season wonders. Everton anyone?

God that was painful to read. He clearly didn't write it, he was interviewed and then it was ghostwritten - seemingly be a 14-year-old, as the repetition is dreadful. But then maybe the journalist was asked to stretch out a five-minute chat to a 1,000-word piece. Who knows.

But in the grand scheme of things, 'Andy Gray doesn't rate Tottenham' isn't much of a shocker. He doesn't say anything of any insight or that hasn't been said by many people before. Andy Gray is one of the biggest gravy-train hoppers ever, and I'm constantly amazed that he hasn't been found out. The guy gets paid ridiculous sums of money for stating the obvious. Always has done, always will.

"We'll have to wait and see what Ramos is made of over the course of a full season. He has great cup pedigree with what he achieved with Sevilla, but we'll have to see if this man is purely a cup manager or whether he has got the substance to put it together in the league next season. We will find out more about Juande Ramos in the next year."

I think it's the same with most pundits. The number of people paid to just pass comment, without any real insight or saying anything even vaguely new or interesting, is laughable. It's all a big boys' club. And it seems you basically need to be a raging alcoholic (George Best), racially dodgy (Atkinson/Marsh) or mental (Gazza) to be excluded. 'Being crap' doesn't seem to be a justifiable sacking offence.

Just think the difference with Gray is that he's basically the figurehead of Sky Sports punditry; Venables is just an occasional talking head.

Watch Sky and actually listen to what they say and you'll realise it's not just him, they all talk shit. Soccer Saturday is the same crap, the same topics, every fucking week. Its incredibly dull. I lost count of the number of times Defoe's 'situation' at Spurs was discussed.

Talkshit is the same. The only reason i listen to it on occasion is to listen to all the dumb scowsers and geordies that gingerflaps winds up. That and Ian Wright who makes me laugh.

If i saw Jon Gaunt walking down the street (or George Galloway for that matter) i'd knock his fucking block off the twat.

Andy Gray is paid to suck the ****s of Man U, CFC, and Woolwich St Germain because his Sky paymasters believe that as these clubs have the largest fanbases, constantly kissing their hairy bottoms will bring Sky Sports the biggest audience, keeping the rates Shy charge advertisers as high as possible.

Put simply, Andy Gray is kissing butt for money.

In my book, that makes him part of the world's oldest profession. He certainly does not have the objective, reasoning insight of a decent sports commentator.

If you compare him with a true great of commentary - say Barry Davies, or in the press James Lawton, or Brian Glanville. He shrinks into a microscopic quivering stain of ineptitude.

I cannot stand that twat Venners. He makes my blood boil whenever I read any piece by him. He maybe an ex player and a manager who won us the FA cup but that does not mean I have to like the guy. His bias towards Chelsea ALL the time is cringe worthy to say the least. His managerial record reads that he has only won 2/3 majot honours in his whole career as a manager but still the hacks from wapping will still print the shite he spouts. If he was such a bloody good coach as they make him out to be he would be the manager of a top, Top, TOP European team. The fact that he is not and has not even been close to being in the last 15 years tells a story in it self!

Andy Gray, even though he works for Sky, has not been watching Spanish footy for the last 3 years or so then if he believes Ramos is just a cup manager. Enough said on that front!!!

Vennables was one of the boo boys as a player at Tottenham in the sixties. The home crowd were always giving him stick.

Why would he? He earns his 7 figure sum every year and gets to sit in a nice studio or in a stand with a great view of the matches he's summarising at with no pressure on him except to try not to swear while live on air. He has it sorted.

As for his article, I couldnt read past the first couple of paragraphs because I think he's full of shit. The first one he started with "After the disappointment of being knocked out of the Uefa Cup in midweek, Tottenham's season is effectively over." made me think that there is probably 14 or 15 Premiership clubs who's season is over already and would gladly swap the season they've had for ours. Only the top five (those who qualify for Europe), and perhaps Portsmouth if they win the cup, and ourselves, will have anything to show for their efforts come May.

It demonstrates a lack of knowledge and understanding of the situation.

You don't have to be a great side to win a cup, but you have to be a pretty good side to finish in the top five or six of the Premier League!

So we were a pretty good side the last 2 years and now we are not, but we just lucked our way into a cup win? Want to put a little thought into why that has happened?

Why they haven't been consistent in the Premier League, I don't know.

Well thanks for the insight.

He has great cup pedigree with what he achieved with Sevilla, but we'll have to see if this man is purely a cup manager or whether he has got the substance to put it together in the league next season.

So should we perhaps look at how his sides have performed in the league over the last year or two?
