Ogbonna is a pretty solid LCB (and I wouldn't mind it if we went for him), but there are at least 3 or 4 top quality younger CBs I'd be all over in that price range (and some even less pricey) -->>
For instance:
Musacchio - The same monetary value as Ogbonna (as per Transfermarkt.co.uk, and the asking price actually corresponds to the one quoted in the article you linked above).
Schár - Similar price range (possibly even cheaper, since the interest from the dozen or so clubs previously linked with him has subsided a bit during the recent weeks). BTW, his contract expires next summer.
Doria and Umtiti (both quality young LCBs who can also play LB if necessary...Both in the same price range as Schár, and Doria's contract at Botafogo expires April of next year).
I'd also throw De Vrij in there (who could've been acquired for cheap before the WC, but now may command even a million or two more than Ogbonna or Musacchio...But he is likely to go to Manure, because LVG digs him quite a bit).
Anyhow, there is (affordable) quality at CB position out there still for the taking, but I don't know for how long. The clock is definitely ticking.
