The last few weeks I have got so fed up with the rants on this site that I have actually stayed away.
For those of you 'Arry haters I think you should take a reality check.

For those of us old enough to remember Spurs since they have been a 1st Division / Premier League team (yes some of us do remember 1976) I thought I would check on 'Arry's record as a manager compared to other Spurs managers.

Just looking at total games played (cup and league) and taking 3 pts for a win and 1 for a draw 'Arry's points per game ratio is 2nd only to the great Bill Nicholson.

I have used stats from TopSpurs but looked at stats per manager and not stats per stint in charge.

We are normally a team who loses nearly as many games as we win. This season we have lost 8 games have not be thrashed once....

Please pipe down and enjoy what you have, you will miss it when its gone

The Ardiles-Francis-Gross-Graham years were largely horrible. Horrible times.

Let's not forget the competition either. Two clubs with billionaire owners and the richest club in the world with the most successful manager of the modern era. 4th and 5th places in your only full seasons looks pretty impressive in that context.

He has his faults and has made mistakes. But, in my mind, those calling for his head after a bad run of form need to remember the bigger picture.

I think he has done a decent job which he would get a lot more credit for if he could learn to keep his mouth shut. He does himself no favours in my opinion.

This, I am a Harry fan but over the course of the season he has talked to much and on the most part completely contradicks himself, apart from that I am happy for him to be at the helm (will be watching what he does in the transfer market very closely though).

Another statician without a clue as to what other people's opinions are about. No one is disputing that we have not had a good CL and beating and competing well with the best, while playing some good football at times. But that does not (IMO) mean we could not have done much better. Games that we had drawn and lost because of irrational team selections and tactics, have cost us to be trophy less and not being in the CL again. If you are satisfied with that, thats your perogative, I am not. My gut feeling is..if SAF and Harry were to swap positions with no addition to either squad, SAF would make our current players EPL champions, while Harry would struggle to make CL spot with the current Manu team. That is where I think the gulf in ability lies, so I do not think Harry is the answer as IMO a better manager would attain more with our current squad. Yes, he has done well, but still could do a lot more, where if he concentrated more on managing th team and less time pampering to the press and TV, more could be accomplished. You might be satisfied with a a B end of term report, but I have always strive for an A anything less is not satisfactory. So yes by my reasoning you can call me a Harry hater but no, I wont pipe down or miss the B when its gone as it is was never good enough in my book when an A was very much attainable.

He's definitely done a great job overall. I just wish he'd stop reminding us of how shit we've been in the past 20 years, because the squad he inherited and the money he's been given really isn't comparable with most of those who preceded him.

If you seriously think SAF or anyone else could have won the Premiership with our forward line I think you are deluded

Jaispurs, it doesn't matter how you present the case for 'Arry the smart alecs on here have their own agenda and will never accept the good job he's done. Why, because the majority of them are younger fans who have grown up in a culture where nothing other than instant success is acceptable. Even if Billy Nick was our present day manager, not having won the Premier with the squad we have now they'd be demanding his resignation at the very least, or sending out smoke signals for Damien Comolli to come back. Folklore. Even Red Nose needed 4 years before he started to get it right

What utter tripe.

I realise it might be difficult for you to understand or realise people have a different point of view than you (it may be a an age thing) but it makes you sound daft when you put your thoughts as other peoples opinions.

In all fairness BulletSpur, how often does a manger like SAF come around?..
Probably not the best example, but the point I was trying to make was that there are better managers out there than Harry, managers who IMO would have done an even better job than Harry has, with the current squad. Its okay if we want to be satisfied with "also rans" or placing 4th, 5th or even 6th spot, but to me Harry taken us as far as he can, but I want more.

Most of you thought we could win the last two world cups which included Defoe and Crouch..............
