Based on what though? Statistically he's never done as well as Son and Lucas in their best seasons.
Could be based on his breakthrough season at Monaco and first two seasons at United, especially still being so young. Son and Lucas are still a few years older. Sometimes statistics aren't the be all and end all. No one can sit there and deny the talent this kid has. He has worked under a manager that hasn't appreciated an ounce of his talent. If he comes to us he would be an outstanding signing.

I reckon the man yoo board know that mourinho is only gonna last another 12 months max so they prob wanna keep him in hope the new manager will get the best out of him.

Have numerous mates who are ST holders there and say when he is on form he is there best player but blows hot and cold. But they do say he hasn't been given a fair crack under the managers and when he did he shone. One has been a ST holder for 15 years and puts him up there with one of the most exciting on his day.

Kind of sounds like some of us talking about Son.

Thing is Yanited have absolutely no desire to sell him to a rival. Whereas Maureen don’t give two hoots
In that case hopefully Mourinho needs the money to strengthen elsewhere and puts pressure on the United board to stop dallying.

fair question. can't prove it with stats, but i think he's exactly the type of player poch has wanted since he arrived. we didn't have the financial clout to get it done when he was still at monaco. now that we do, i would love for poch to get his wish. reckon he'd be an absolute star for us, which is precisely why united won't sell him to us.

I'm trying to think of what clubs could realistically get him

Don't think Madrid nor Barca need him, Athleti maybe, Juventus possibly but they got DouglasCosta and Bernadeshi, PSG don't need him. You would have to say out of all the prem rivals, surely they would favour swapping with us?

The difference is Martial could turn into that player that you pin your hopes on winning the game and he does. Whereas Sonny, as brilliant as he has been, is probably not going to reach that level.

Tbf you could say we have Lucas, Lamela, Dele, Son etc so we don't need him either.

Son is amazing on his day however when he is off form or squanders his chances, we only have Lamela to bring on. We are still unknown over what impact Lucas can have in big games so I'd happily let Lamela go and bring Martial in.

I would probably add Bayern to that list too. And perhaps Atletico, depending on what happens with Greizmann. Someone like Inter, with champions league football and their rich owner might go for it all in too. Other than that, i'm not seeing too many options.

Totally agree. I'm in the "Martial is better than Son and Lamela" camp.

I'd counter that with Son going to the Asian games though and we have nobody else that has Martial qualities.

I forgot bayern tbf, he would be perfect for them but I don't think he'd join Inter. He needs to force his move.

You could equally counter it by saying Douglas Costa and Bernadeschi are left footers, Martial would play the opposite wing. Just saying, we have a tendency to come up with reasons why a player won't go elsewhere.

They’re much bigger than us and we are limp-dicked mugs enough to bend over to their will.

Much bigger yes. But better? Too close to call. If we wanna get to elite level one of the things we need to do is tell the bigger teams to fuck off on a more regular basis.
