As Tottenham make a return to the Champions League tomorrow, Antonio Conte’s record in the competition remains the only blot on his excellent CV.

Conte won five league titles in six seasons as a manager before joining Spurs, but his form in Europe’s top club competition is dismal by contrast and the one thing that still sets him apart from rivals Thomas Tuchel, Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola, who have all coached European Cup-winning teams.

This does seem to be Conte's weakness, especially when there are 2 games a week and he doesn't have the full week to prepare the team but I have a feeling we will do well in the CL this season.

The media keeps citing that Conte has never won the CL. Guardiola has failed to win the CL during his 9 seasons with Man City and Bayern, but his CL success from over a decade ago gives him an edge over Conte???

Can’t deny his CL record is a little worrying, it’ll be interesting to see if he can turn it around with us.

His CL record separates him from the likes of Klopp, Tuchel, Ancelotti etc, not that he needs extra motivation.
