I just want a new Norwegian at Spurs, so get this done Spurs! He stood out for the national team when he got his first few game, and everyone was exited to see him play.

He was first in line over Oscar Bobb, so really hope we have a generational talent here, Stil young though and you never know if he will just be a new sess, really hope not :S

Just want to pull you up on this. A rebuild in football is never done. If you don't evolve constantly you stagnate, and we've done exactly that in the not too distant past.

I know what you mean, but can't agree with using the word done under any circumstances.

I think we're as close to having a serviceable squad with no glaring holes in it as most of us can remember. It doesn't feel much to me like we have bits missing which has been the overriding feeling for many years.

Probably the one area is striker but then we'd always feel a little short there after a decade of greatness at said position.

Happy to be corrected but I believe he's been struggling somewhat with a back injury. Apparently the main reason for him not playing more as he's supposedly been pretty fire whenever he's played.

I was aware of his name, but never followed his career before.

I thought he would have been playing consistently already.Seems he barely played 1000 minutes in league football. Most of his end game time & end product is coming from national team games.

So, loan back to Brugge is good for his development, as long as they commit to play him.

How much ever talented he may be, he still needs game time to develop.Belgian to Premier league would be huge jump for a 18 yr old. If & when we buy him and get him in summer, I hope the expecation is kept to minimum
Last year there was Noa Lang on the LW. A Dutch international who was sold to PSV.
This year they brought in Philip Zinckernagel from Standard Liege (together with their coach Ronny Deila) who has played for Watford and Nott. Forest.
On the RW they have Skov Olsen (Danish international who was scouted by Spurs a few windows ago) and Tajon Buchanan (Canadian international who they sold to Inter Milan this window).
It's not that he has to compete with some muppets

I think the biggest thing we might be missing right now alongside striker is an elite FAST dribbler that can beat a man more consistently. Hopefully Nusa will be that x factor

Are we really short there though? Feels like Veliz has kind of gone unrecognised to some extent. We signed Lankshear for the academy and we also have Scarlett coming through who has been loaned out and maybe will again. It does feel like we've put a bit of future planning into centre forwards to be fair. Also feels like we like versatile players who cover across the front. I fancy in time we will see Johnson on occasion up top and you have Son, Richarlison and Werner who cover up top or on the left. Maybe Ange is looking more generically at attackers rather than any specialist forward. In terms of attackers as a whole we'll be pretty well stocked across the front line.

If for some reason this falls through, I hope we don’t get the Dragusin situation where the club and mostly Levy get pelters. Seems we’re being aggressive and doing all we can to get him.

We have no idea how Ange’s coaching and training alongside and against the likes of Son, Romero, VdV, Udogie, Benny etc would affect his development.

Entirely possible his development accelerates massively especially if he has a good attitude and work ethic.

You’d like to think so, but there hasn’t been any evidence so far of our young attacking players’ development really taking off with the same conditions - and there is a decent enough sample size to assess with Donley, Veliz, Gil and Johnson. Devine and Scarlett were touted for breakthrough seasons in the summer but Ange decided to loan them out and he has in general been quite cautious with his use of unproven players. He’s repeatedly said that the front third is the area of the team which is underperforming the most, so the expectation and the burden of responsibility for a forward is huge in this team and is unlikely to be bequeathed to a teenager judging by current form.

Of course, it’s a possibility he’ll be a superstar from the get go… but it’s blind hope at this point. How many 18 year old signings new to England and the PL have made an instant impact?

BTW I agree that there are definitely positives to him joining sooner rather than later, but the key point is having sensible expectations. At the moment he’s billed as a “generational talent” who’s being lined up as Son’s successor, but it’s just hot air and hype as things stand. The spotlight is going to be intense, especially midway in Ange’s first season where emotions are running high and miracles seem possible. Let’s just calm down if it happens.

Absolutely agreed. We've got potential there and the system now mitigates not having the premiere player at the position. It'll just feel, to me anyway, a little bit lacking until the memories fade more.

Absolutely zero complaints about or shade thrown at anyone of our striking options, especially my boy Sonny who is the next best thing.

Were they?
I think we all hoped they'd have a breakthrough season, as we do with every kid but pretty much everyone thought they'd need a decent loan this year.
I don't recall them being touted as breaking into the first team this season.

I think it’s more advanced than O’Keefe suggests. There simply wouldn’t be so much ITK and numerous top outlets saying we’re in talks to sign him otherwise.

If we had simply enquired etc it wouldn’t be in the news as it has been today.

This has got meltdown Monday part 2 written all over. Looking forward to it!
why? the only reason for a meltdown here would be poor interpretation. it's not like it is being reported as a done deal or advanced negotiations. every journalist is putting it as exploratory. no agreement on either end, interest from multiple parties.

This is far too reasonable a post to be on the transfer forum. Are you lost?!
