If you are all data driven, you are all going to come to the same conclusion more often than not.
That was my point. I’m sure this will start happening more often as I’m sure more teams in the PL will begin moving towards that set up.

I think it would be crazy for anyone to purchase him right now with these injury concerns even at a reduced fee. He doesn't have enough of a sample size to say, yes, he's definitely going to be a superstar. Then add into the equation his injuries and the fact he is a winger who relies on pace mobility and changing direction quickly and it's even more of a risk.

If he's got to the point this has been picked up in a medical that means he's been playing with these injuries. How long for, and how has he been managing them? It's red flag after red flag imo.
Or the Brentford team think it is manageable but it gives there negotiators leverage with the upside of putting off other suitors.

If the injuries are minor to a point where Brentford think they'll be easily addressed the Brugge team will also be fully aware of this. You aren't going to get huge chunks knocked off for something minor imo.

The extent is only known between the 2 clubs though so the competition is reduced. They've thrown enough shade on the deal for Brugge to feel a bit more backed into a corner.

I very much doubt this is negotiating tactic from Brentford. Especially with so many interested parties.

If he does have injury worries, it's not worth the risk, same with Vlahovic and Fati. (Interesting to see that Fati has missed 18 games this season through injury, that's pretty much the whole season so far)

Yes he (Nusa) may get over it, but we're talking 25m, it was already too expensive. Just walk away.

If their too expensive or there are red flags with injuries or personality problems, just leave it. Why take a risk, we are not desperate.

isn’t he more a centre forward and we want a winger.
Plays across front three and happy playing on wing

He has had back problems for a while, so probably a reason we only were prepared to spend X

Theres a possibility that the back pain is a result of the knee injury. The knee injury could lead to tightness in the hamstring and in turn lead to lower back pain.
I don't know enough about the lad but he may have been hiding his knee injury and therefore the club have reacted to/ treated the back pain as the main issue and overlooked the potential underlying cause.

All conjecture of course.

Do clubs insure against player injuries? If so I would imagine that failing a medical would limit insurance options which would be a further complication. No idea how that works though

The premium on footballer’s injuries must be quite high…

I might be wrong but didn't Bale have lots of back problems early on?

And no, I'm not talking about back problems from carrying us for a couple seasons :cautious:

This is my industry - medical insurance for Football players. Wouldn't affect anything - medical history is usually disregarded as the schemes are so large and risk spread across the whole squad/club.

Wonder if there’s scope to negotiate a very low up-front fee laden with extras that depend on number of appearances etc? Might be an insurance if the medical issues are relatively minor.

If they come back down to our initial price would we be interested again I wonder or does the injury put us off? If we were aware of his back issues and still prepared to pay then how much difference does the knee injury cause I wonder. Maybe the initial deal but he comes in now and works with us on his recovery. I'm finding the Gil loan talk unusual considering the issues Soloman is having unless we're getting someone in.

0% chance Levy doesn’t tear up the old price and go low if that were ever to happen. And he’d be right to.
