Son missed too many opportunities,
so many of Korean said that : he must go to military service. also he'll dismiss from Spurs.

This situation.. how do you guys think about that?
Probably, Son is really severe .. he can't avoid military service if he don't get gold medal in Asian game

He has to go into Military service by the time he's 28 - which is 4 years away at the moment.
In all likelihood he won't be a Spurs player when that happens, so I can't say I'm particularly fussed.

But who would actually buy him off is if he doesn't get a gold in the Asian games or next Olympics. At the very least his price will drop significantly. He really needs to dig his heals in this season, and I really hope he does, but I don't feel as confident about him doing well for us as I did last season.

He was disappointing for me... As one of the "older" players, would have expected him to step up and lead the team, but he really didn't do enough IMO. Gutted at the way they went out, clearly the better team, created chance after chance... But as expected, a goalkeeper having the game of his life, the crossbar helping out and got sucker punched. Korean could have gotten atleast 5 goals in that match.

Being Asian, I really want Son to do well with us, i hope it's juz a thing for players not to perform for their country.

Asian games is in a couple of years, still a chance there... Most likely Levy/Poch will allow him to take part so he will leave after the first game of the 18/19 season...

Don't worry too much, I am sure his contract is structured in such a way that we can release him from his contract for a couple of years and monitor his progress. And sign him back after this has served his country. Anyway.... He will go through the basic training, then most likely posted to Sangju Sangmu their military team. He will still be playing professional football at a high level.... Just being paid peanuts... Wait less then peanuts. lol.

any chance we could apply that penalty to the English national team (i.e military service if they dont win something soon?)

Yes I watch the game against Honduras... And it don't know much about Korean military, but I am assuming it's works the same way as it does in my country. (singapore) the only different is that even our first every gold medal Olympic winner still HAS to serve in the military. But he could be given unlimited deferments till he is ready.

I am sure, in Korean is juz like here, military is part of life, we are all proud to serve our country and we really dislike those who weasel their way out by running to a different country.
