I know its early days and all that, but the lack of pace in our squad now is quite scarey, all over the park we have plodders, from Daws and Verts,at the back to Sandro, Pauli, dems,in the middle,Lennons can still move but nothing like he used to be,Sol up front has no pace to speak of really.

I was really excited with the players we've brought in in you tube world but seeing them play im not very excited at all i mean you dont need time to show your're pace do you ? Willian was a massive lose for us IMO..

Hope im well and truely wrong and the squad come together but i cant see us hitting teams on the break as we have always done,is a completely different style of play necessary ? i think thats what we're going to get.

Fingers crossed we get some pace in before the window closes.

We've not won our opening two games since 05 and we are full of negative threads. Not having a go at you, and yes I do hope (and expect) that we improve, I'm sure we will, but the threads being started are ridiculous!

Lloris: one of the fastest keepers in the world off his line
Walker: ridiculously fast
Kaboul: Is fastest over 100metres at the club (confirmed by Daws IIRC)
Rose: V. fast
Townsend: V. fast
Lennon: One fastest players in the prem

Team of plodders?

Paulinho, Dembele, Capoue are all faster than the average PL footballer and by some bit I can guarantee you that.

So to answer your question no.

I'm more underwhelmed by our lack of creativity.

Our main problem last season was goals conceded and the number we let in was not conducive to being a top four club.

AVB knew this and has gone about recruiting to make us difficult to break down and with height throughout the side, defensively sound at set pieces too.

By going for Willian, he has also declared intent to acquire a goalscoring, assist-providing playmaker. That player will unlock the obvious skills we've recruited in our club record signing.

Then not only do we have a solid defensive unit to build off, we will also find goals will come from various positions around the park.

What? We have some of the fastest players in the EPL in our lineup...

Walker, Lennon, Townsend, Rose, Kaboul, Lloris, etc

Midfield 3 aren't going to outrun Usain Bolt anytime soon but they're still very fast comparatively and more importantly have footballing brains, as well as great endurance.

Maybe you should read the first page of threads before creating a duplicate of http://www.spurscommunity.co.uk/ind...lacking-creativity.101287/page-2#post-3559675

Also proof reading ftw.

I think this fella is just disillusioned now we don't have the fastest most dangerous player in the league galloping forward and smashing in 30 yarders.

We've got a team that are still getting to know one another, yet have still won the 3 games put before them so far.

We were missing our two traditional livewires in Lennon and Bale today, yet we still have Walker, Rose and Townsend who can shift.

Our first proper test will be next weekend, let's see how we do against Arsenal, and maybe then would be a better time for a knee jerk thread. (y)

Of course I feel underwhelmed, but only because quite frankly, if we lost bale then shut the transfer window, and no more player gelling occurred, we'd be a shambles, but I know damn well that we need and will get another striker, and maybe left back, and possibly more on top of that, and then the entire team shape will change and then the players will gel and we'll be fine.

I was worried about a draw today to be frank and we'll need to be very careful at Bumenal, but we'll be ok.

To lose the third best player in the world but not feel a desperate sadness of missing him in the opening two games is some serious wizardry the club have pulled off.

Also, please don't call him that, it's Roberto/Bob/Soldado/Bertie, anything other than that

Love it how some people add Lloris to the list of our fast players :)

The OP does have a point. Without Bale and Defoe on the bench this does blunt our potential to break quickly. You can also throw Lennon into the mix if Townsend starts to push him down the pecking order

Walker and Kaboul when 100% are rapid but they are defenders, doesn't really count when your talking about us hitting teams on he break. Rose ain't quick enough either

Our breaks, pace and danger came from Bale/Lennon/Defoe
