Like who?

I don't know as I only watch the premier league(and a bit of la liga if my mrs is in a good mood), so I don't follow other leagues.

That's not really the point though. It's not my job to identify players but it is the job of spurs scouting network, transfer team etc.

Players like jelavic and cisse have been available in January for modest fees.

We also brought on gudjonsson on loan the year we made CL. Ok, he didnt set the world alight but he proved a very useful addition in the latter part of the season.

Ade could miss 3 or 4 PL matches. It's not the end of the world really is it? and he hasn't exactly been on top form lately. Play 4-2-3-1 and we have a few different options available. Couldn't we throw Obika into the mix?

Im not too worried. scoring plenty of goals from all across the team and it might be the catalyst for Siggy

Yeah but a top class player on loan in January just isn't going to happen. If I were Levy I would be going all out to get Llorente whether it's on a pre-contract or for £6m odd this window

Well, Against the likes of Citeh et al, we're small league. Plus, the last couple of £16m signings (Modric aside) weren't exactly worldies it turned out. The players we managed to buy in the summer were frigging bargains though.

Still think we'd go high teens if the player was right. Unfortunately those players are already in a different league when it comes to wages 99% of the time.

Are you trying to say that you don't consider Bentley to be a 'worldy'? The man's a club legend. Shame it's his local night club.

Yep. The only way I can see us spending big money on a transfer is for a young player with unbelievable potential a la Modric - guys who don't command massive wages yet.

What an awful signing. DL must still wake up screaming. I don't blame him for being gun shy. We've been paying him £2.5m a yr for the last 4 yrs and all.

The way I see it, any team with top 4 aspirations and in the situation we find ourselves should not be going into a key part of the season with 1 striker plus a makeshift reserve.

I have fingers and toes crossed we're in for someone.

Do people think we'll sign or take the MASSIVE gamble of winging it with Defoe plus Dempsey??

Four games and a cup tie is hardly massive.

Such a weird signing. I thought he looked great at Blackburn, but even when he joined I couldn't see the point. We already had Lennon so it was hardly a pressing need to bring in someone in that position.

I saw his debut in the pre-season friendly against Roma, where he scored twice, and thought I might be wrong about him. Unfortunately for all of us he just seemed to give up.

As for strikers I think the ship has sailed regarding Leandro, and Llorente (as much as I'd love him) can command a much bigger salary than we're able to offer. We need AVB to find some rough diamond or somebody that has gone under the radar somehow.

The next half of the season will be Jermaine's finest of his career. Adjust your fantasy football teams accordingly. :coffee:

I was exactly the same. Had a brief, solid stint at the back of '09-'10 but otherwise. :meh:

Not really. We have the players to play a proper 4-3-3 if we have to, we can also play Dempsey as a striker.

It's not ideal, but its not like we don't have options.

Yeah I doubted the Del Nido story from the get go.

Christ imagine if Levy could pull of Snieder and LLorente. We'd be challenging right up there next year. One can only dream...

Personally, I like the idea of a Loan as cover, Dempsey is and will not be a top 4 3rd striker. There will come a time in the season when both JD and Ade are unavailable and I just pray its not at the business end of the season.
