Argument with a fellow Spurs-supporter who wants Sherwood out. Apart from the point of entertaining football I want to win it by giving him this:)

If he has watched 90 mins of each performance since Sherwood has taken over then this wont sway him. Because he is basing his opinion on more than just the final outcome of matches. Since Sherwood took over there have only been two good performances and highlighted a hell of a lot of negatives. Yet he has pretty good results. It depends if you can take the results at face value or you watch the 90 mins of each match and our performance to ascertain whether you think Sherwood is the right man.

Nobody is convincing me we are entertaining under Sherwood.

We look absolutely clueless, and we have done 90% of the time he has been in charge.

We need to find another Brendan from somewhere. And another "Luie" to go with him. ;)

So clueless we've more than doubled the amount of goals scored than under the previous regime in half the games. We're still not there yet, but even that stat alone proves progress.

No, it proves we score more goals...

If Sherwood delivers a higher finish or points total than AVB, I will deem that progress.

And that is fair barometer to base that upon, because AVB left us with a greater points total than we had at the same stage last season.

Scoring goals is more entertaining that not. That's a fact.

When have we entertained under Sherwood?

Serious question. Take away results/scorelines (like everyone did under AVB) - and you tell me when we have 'entertained' under Sherwood. When have you watched us since he took over and had an actual smile on your face as a direct result of the way we play?

Man United away was a great result, but we didn't entertain. Southampton and Swansea away were good results, but were we entertaining? Perhaps at Swansea we were, but I would argue both them and Southampton gifted us awful goals.

We haven't outplayed any team since Sherwood took over except Swansea, you can hide behind the goals for column as much as you want.

West Brom, West Ham and Crystal Palace all came to the Lane and outplayed us, and they could quite conceivably be the three teams that end up getting relegated.

Stoke and I thought we outplayed Southampton for large periods.

It's not hiding behind anything mate. If we score more goals, we are more entertaining. It's as simple as that.

Goals are the point. We were painfull goalshy before Tim came in and now we've instantly doubled our output, without letting in any more on average. So whatever way you want to try and twist it, simply by putting the ball in the back of the net twice as many times, we have improved how entertaining we are.

I have enjoyed watching us under Sherwood 20x more than any game this season under AVB. I can't think of a single game where we were entertaining under AVB this year.

On a serious note, yesterday was a classic bad AVB performance. Not knowing how to fit the midfielders in a system, relying on a piece of individual magic, slow going forward, sloppy, predictable movement.

That I can kind of agree with, but it was against Everton.

Well that's just not true. There have been plenty of games in our history where we've scored multiple goals against crap opposition and the game has been boring as hell. Some of the Europa league games for instance.

Goals don't automatically equate to entertainment. Good football equates to entertainment and we haven't seen much of that at any point this season. It's a miracle we're still in the hunt for top 4 considering the way we've been playing.

Norwich with AVB and Stoke with Tim are probably our two most entertaining games because we played well but they don't have as many goals between them as the two legs of the Dinamo Tbilisi Europa league tie which was dull as dishwater.

By that barometer the time we lost 3-5 at home to Man Utd was more entertaining than when we beat Chelsea 2-1 under Jol (the first time we'd beaten them in the league for ages). Whatever floats your boat, I guess.

And yet still more entertaining than creating and scoring nothing.
