Well I would expect us to beat apoel at home so that would be 9 points so yes a draw at least in Dortmund should see us through, and that's factoring in that we probably will lose home and away to Madrid which is likely.

With us playing RM in our next two and BD playing Apoel in their next two, it's reasonable to say that we'll most probably lose our two and BD will win their two, if we lose to BD away then it will come down to goal difference from the Apoel games and how many we lose by against BD, IF we lose!

It's not decided on GD, it's decided on H2H

Heard you were getting pelted with bottles?

No ...nothing to report

Only problem we had was one of flags nicked by apoel fans and taken to their end,.the problem was it was a RIP flag by some of our fans in tribute to a fellow yid.it nearly kicked off then but our spurs stewards intervened and somehow returned it
Other then that no trouble....tbh. Most of us were to pissed and sunstroked

To be fair to Hank, I think there's a heavy dose of realism in there too. RM have just spanked a very decent Dortmund team 3-1 away. They'll love Wembley and they're extremely strong at home in Europe. Both Bale and Modric will be well up for both games and Ronaldo is always up for it in CL.

They'll have a plan for Kane, so if we are to get anything at all from those 2 games, the rest of our forward line will need to be bang on their game without the profligacy we've seen recently.

IMO, the game will hinge on midfield. If we don't protect our back line sufficiently then we could be in trouble.

As much as I want to put a positive spin on the forthcoming contests, I do feel that we could be in for a schooling.

That's nothing. On Irish TV Souness said if we do well and win league etc that the players will go to Levy and look for treble their pay which he won't pay and they will leave. If we don't win anything the players including Kane will go to Levy looking for a move away.
This must be the current narrative the scriptwriters are pulling out of their arses.

The bit that got me was when the anchor said to Souness along the lines of 'he was winding up the Spurs fans' Souness replied "I'm a Spurs fan" & 'They were my first team' (This is the bit that is bugging me, I am not certain whether he said 'first team' or 'first love' - apologies !)

Real Madrid haven't been that great this season to be honest, compared to last season they've been off their game, I think we have enough to surprise them personally.

To be fair everyone has a plan for kane
The problem with the plans are they never work!
It's the rest of our team if they give him the ball in good areas he will nearly always score the man is a goal machine of that there is no doubt the opposition seems to be irrelevant.

If I'm not mistaken, based on the actual movements on the pitch and not initial positioning, we actually did play a 442. Aurier, Alderweireld, Sanchez and Davies, then Dier, Winks, Sissoko and surprisingly Trippier as a midfield 4, then Kane and Son/Llorente as attackers.

Hopefully SD, I just feel that they're starting to hit their stride. Whacking Dortmund for 3 away is no mean feat, particularly as they only conceded the one. Also it'll be at Wembley, they could open us up at will if we're not up to it in midfield.

Fair point, but my feeling is that they'll go out of their way to nullify him, meaning that our other attacking options will need to be at the top of their game, particularly finishing wise. It's Son that I'm thinking of most here as he's been pretty profligate and I have a feeling our opportunities will be limited in front of goal.
Llorente could be key if he is started. If he ties up their CB's, allowing Kane to find any pockets of space available, we definitely could cause them some issues but, again, it will be dependent on our midfield. Firstly to provide that additional protection to our back line, and secondly to provide decent service.

I hope Poch gets the balance right, but I do have a bad feeling on these games.

I would have liked to see our wide players take on their full-backs a bit more

This is especially aimed at GKN who had a couple of chances to run into space, but decided to stop and pass it back, or sideways

I remember when Lennon used to terrify left-backs

The game was already well won at that time, controlling the game with possesion was more important.

Very true but I retain the feeling that we will get through to the knockout stage.

Haha don’t

For a moment I had visions of the “you’re fecking shit” song ringing round Wembley as we protect our 3 goal lead with a bit of keep ball in injury time
