Are Arsenal slipping?

Arsenal have built a really strong ethos at the club. Through this they win games when not playing well and implement new players to their team quite quickly.

The league is a marathon, not a sprint and Arsenal show time and time again that whether they have a slow start or not they are good enough to finish top four.

I don't want to tempt fate...but i'm going to anyway. Seriously close this thread and don't bring it up again. I'm still stung from Mind the Gap.

They will slip one day, probably when we least expect it. Nothing lasts forever and sooner or later we'll be finishing above them on a regular basis. I just hope it's in my lifetime :sorry:

"Mind the Gap". Ring a bell? Let's just close this thread now while we still have a little bit of sense shall we?

I don't want to tempt fate by calling this thread let's all laugh at Arsenal but I have seen them play 4 times now and they have scraped results in all those games. That goal last night stank and they have been very lucky with decisions.
They have played extremely well in patches in some of these games but the bottom line is -they can't score!! Giroud is out and this new guy is meh to me for them.
I tipped them to finish outside the top 4 this season and I know it's early days and I know I want them to fail but....

That's them guaranteed to finish above us then.

What is this mind the gap stuff I always hear about? I don't know anyone who said that and if they did it was probably as a joke when we were above them.

Really? I believe it all started in Harry's last season where we were 10 points above them, became aware of said points gap, chose to mock them and ended up having them finish above us hence the running joke ever since. Personally I'd like to focus on us and stop comparing ourselves to them until we can actually claim to be rivals as far as recent league position and achievements go.

Fair enough but I don't see why anyone who didn't say that stuff should have to tip toe around the subject of Arsenal. And in what world are we not rivals? It was only last season that they finished above us by more than a couple of points and there's the obvious local rivalry. Not to mention that we were here first, I'll be damned if I ever give a monkeys what any Arsenal fans think of us.

Arsenal may be slipping, but Mesuit Ozil isn't according to his manager. Apparantly Wenger called him "absolutely perfect" in response to criticism leveled at his player. I hope Wenger knows the definition of "perfect" and knows the correct French equivalent word. Perhaps he's thinking of the word "imperfect." There's a slight difference arsene.

They're a Khedira, and a striker away from a title challenge IMO.
They are an injury to Cazorla away from being exposed.
They are 9-1 for the title and those odds are skimpy.
They are only scrapingly odds-on to beat LEICESTER tomorrow.
Maybe I am letting my heart rule my head but if they put in ANOTHER poor performance tomorrow I think the alarm bells will be ringing. Wenger should be all over MS and Welbeck and Ozil needs dumping. Perhaps Ramsey and Walcott could rescue the season but......

Lots of Gooners I know are fuming right now. They're still desperate for a complete spin, a CB, DM and a CF, and in the meantime I've just switched over to Italian TV to see Wenger managering a charity match team in Italy.

If they don't sign a good striker they won't finish in the top 4. United and Liverpool look too strong now.

Makes me chuckle when they moan about not spending. They dropped 35m on Sanchez only a few weeks ago!
42m last summer on Ozil.

Established top quality players. I'd love to see us in such a position. Imagine how they would react to seeing Ben Davies rolled out as their big money summer signing!!!
