Are the players fitter under AVB?

I doubt that anyone from the Sun will be asking this question after the game but could it be that we're starting to benefit from the double training sessions? We havent looked tired at all after the UEFA games, added to which injuries have meant that we havent been able to rotate players much at all.

There haven't been any double training sessions - both AVB and the players have already confirmed this - there were some double sessions in pre-season and that's it. Not one since the season began.

I don't think so
Certainly our concentration seemed to drop toward the 75th minute mark in the early games
I noticed a difference when Harry took over actually and thought we seemed to play to the 90th a little better compared to Juande Ramos. Can't say I've noticed much of a difference this term.

Firstly this

but secondly, I think it is far too early in the season to tell

Playing first-teamers in the Europa league and still getting results in the league suggests that you could have a point.

It could be as a result of the early double sessions.

If you follow the super compensation rules then it's likely that early season, the players were still in the recovery phase so their fitness appeared to deminish but now they are in the adaptation phase and are reaping the benefits. Saying that they waned badly second half in the wafer cup.

I think the addition of Dembele, Vertonghen, Siggy and Dempsey has made us that bit more athletic and fitter anyway. I doubt you will find a more energetic and dynamic engine room than Sandro and Dembele in Europe.

I think they will be fitter, eventually, but like everything else it just takes time to adapt.

I think we carried Modric and VDV defensively so that's been one positive in replacing them. We now defend with eleven men.

I think it's hard to say as we've faded in quite a few matches, but that could be due to our pressing game and maybe with time, greater fitness levels will be achieved. It could also be that as our tactical nuances are more ingrained the team as a whole may become more efficient and the fading may reduce.
