Central midfield options, I know some are highly unlikely and ambitious but hey: Arteta, Cahill, Barry, Ireland, Defour, Biglia, Gago, Hernanes, Melo, Rakitic, Bodmer, Coutadeur, Moutinho, R.Garcia.
As for strikers I think Mario Gomez would be a fantastic option, but I've seen a lot of Diogo at Olympiakos this season and this boy has everything. He's just a joyous player to watch.
Although Gudjohnsen as someone above had mentioned would be a fantastic addition.
Diogo has scored six goals in 26 appearances in the Greek league. I note that Matt Derbyshire has scored five in six. Not that I've ever watched any Greek football, you understand, but I've a feeling that the overall standard isn't that hot, and those bare stats don't fill me with much confidence. A Brazilian striker outscored by a second-stringer from Blackburn, on loan? I think some explanation is necessary.
Gomez looks mightily impressive, which probably explains why Stuttgart have slapped a mightily impressive price tag on his head. But scoring in the Bundesliga is a great deal easier than in the EPL, as you must know. Pizarro's been happily whacking them in for Werder this season, but was a total dud for Chelsea.
As for Gudjohnsen, three or four years ago yes, or maybe, anyway. Now, no.
