Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp is optimistic of having Ledley King at his disposal for the remainder of the season.

King suffers with a persistent knee problem that prevents him from playing matches in quick succession.

However, Spurs are no longer in cup competitions and therefore do not have midweek matches scheduled for the rest of the term.

And Redknapp is confident of using centre-back King in the club's remaining 10 Premier League games.

"I think Ledley, with a bit of luck, could be available for the rest of the season," Redknapp said.
"Ledley's problem is he can't do it on Saturday and midweek; but we've got no more midweek games, so I may well get Ledley available every week which would be a big boost."

Would be great if possible, he makes such a difference at the back for us

Bit unfortunate for Dawson though who has been quality this season. But we've got to play our best players as often as possible so if King's available he plays.

Dawson would get enough games. woody would get rests if Ledley didn't.

i still think Daws will remain happy. Although his not first choice he will still probably play equal or even more then ledley and woody

Dawson will most likely be first choice next season if King's fitness problems dont get fixed during the summer. Which is highly unlikely anyway.

dawson is too good to be 3rd choice at a mid table club he would walk into almost any team in the prem excluding the top 5.

i think daws will generally be first choice next season - no way woodgate and king will be fit at the same time for many games. have to say i'm pleased - i love both woody and king but daws has been consistently solid and has shown a lot of character to up his game after such a bad spell. he seems like he loves this club too (ok can't really tell, but at least he gives 100%)

If we're not in the Europa League next season, then we might be able to play King for most of our League games next season too.

I wonder how many years King can keep this up? I don't know if it's ever been officially stated, but I think we assume that his condition is chronic, and will never improve. But will it get steadily worse?

Seeing as he doesn't train, he might have a long career ahead of him! 90' (occasionally 120) of sport a week doesn't put too much wear and tear on the body.

if king can play 8 of the remaining games it makes staying up and possibly finishing 10th or 11th a realistic aim. i dont think finishing higher then that is too realistic because we have to play 5 of the top 6 in our last 10 games so we have a tough run in but with king back a midtable finish should be achievable
