Im no technical expert when it comes to football formations etc but what i do know is that teams dont come away from the San Siro with a win and a clean sheet unless someone somewhere has done their homework. So id like to give Harry and his team some rep for that and suggest that after that performance, anyone still being fooled by the the `happy go lucky wheeler deeler' act that Harry puts on for the media needs to wake up and recognise him for what he has clearly become, Englands finest football coach.

I was saying in the pub yesterday that Harry out-did 'em tactically.

The days leading to the game he was saying "we'll go all-out attack, attack is all we know!" stuff like that. But we didn't go all out attack at all, we played a sensible game, 2 defensive mids, one up front and we looked to hit them on the counter attack which I don't think Milan expected.

The formation and the tactics worked perfectly. I think Harry would have been happy with a 0-0 and would be ecstatic with a 1-0 win! Now he has to nail on the second half of this tie in three weeks time.

Do we dare to dream?!

Harry deserves alot of respect not just for this game but also the Inter game at home also!

Harry has admitted himself he took a gamble by putting on Woodgate but he got it spot on

Got everything right yesterday, considering our injuries and suspensions he made great use of the squad and bought the subs on at the right time. Was bold in bringing on Woody but he said he felt we needed his experience and he was right. I thought it was harsh Krancjar not getting a start but pienaar put in a performance similar to Park Ji Sung with all his midfield tracking back.

Fantastic tactics by Harry (once again). He knows how to play us in big games (Inter home, City away), and deserves all the plaudits.

I don't think there was any mystery in it. We essentially played with 7 defenders when we had the back 4 + Sandro + Palacios + Pienaar tracking back.

The players that we did have played very, very well. And can't forget Gomes. Yet again he single-handedly kept us in the tie.

Tactically and motivationally spot on.

The boys never lost their heads, and the level of control we showed was fantastic.

The team defended as a unit, much like the home games against Arsenal and Chelsea last season. It was hard to believe we started with only one quarter of our usual midfield four. Lennon and Pienaar doubled up when needed and Sandro and Palacios closed down without being completely dragged out of position. Crouch, vdv/modric, Lennon and Pienaar also made sure we almost always had an out ball to play. Crouchs work rate was fantastic. There were periods towards the end where we were stroking the ball around for fun. It was such a mature, restrained performance which kept us solid without overly compromising our attacking game. It's left me with such a warm glow today, putting this game in context of where we've been for the last 20 years.

i think souness was spot on, saying this team has proved they can play in a certain way to get results anywhere away from home. perhaps we might just beat chelsea at the bridge this year!

Harry got it spot on, play with intensity, speed and press them hard in the first half and then sit off a bit in the second and find the space to counter-attack...worked a treat.

Crouch covered 7.5 miles last night, only Flamini did more.

Based on some of our league teams I am not completely sold on Harry's tactical awareness. However, last night I thought he was spot on. I was releived that he left Defoe on the bench and concentrated on making the changes when and where logic called for.

All in all I think the 4-5-1 with Crouch up front really suits the slower European game. I was worried that Defoe was gonna show at some point and the side would revert back to a more PL style team, so I am glad Harry is now dropped his endless faith in Defoe and going with what works. We keep a team like this for the return leg and I can see us going to the semis.

The tactics were spot on. Incredibly!

Harry had the defence push up early on, and the midfield deep, we were a solid unit together, and they had no pace to expose any sort of space in behind. Pato changed things a bit 2nd half, but that just meant more space.

Milan we're tactically poor also. We're known for our threats on the wings, and yet they played narrow with no protection on Antonini. I'd love to see what Bale and Lennon will do at WHL!

I think your right against the Italian teams. Play that defensively against Barca or a top Prem side and they would tear us a new one.

Milan were shit for large portions of the game, but we still got out of schtook with a couple of great saves from Gomes.

Why do I have the feeling that we are going to get to the final and then get ripped a new arsehole by Barca?

Dude, you are well out of line. If you had more than one brain cell and have read my past posts properly you will see that I only make objective and opinion based comments where Redknapp is concerned. I compliment him when he's right and question him when I think he's doing something wrong.

As for wanting Spurs to fail, what sort of utter moron are you?

Maybe you should step back and take a look at which one of us is the sad bastard hounding another member on this board, based on totally false assumption, and then decide which one of us is a mug.
