has anyone ever sat in the home end at arse-nil for the spurs game. I have a seat in there for saturday and wanted to know how difficult it might be to sit there?

I've done it a few times.

It definitely detracts from the enjoyment of the game:

a) having to sit with a bunch of tossers (though you could argue that the booers of recent weeks at the Lane makes sitting with tossers more frequent)

b) not being able to show any emotion at all.

The main thing that goes through my head whenever I've done it is how would I react if a gooner was at the Lane and went mental if they scored.

Show some restraint and you will be fine.

Go mental, they will do fuck all......or youll die a leg end. I could never sit in the other end personally.

Enjoy the frisson of excitement from being an agent in enemy territory. If the unlikely happens and we win, just chunter loudly that "I hate to admit it, but the best team won there...That Gareth Bale is one hell of a player etc etc..."

Went to the Amsterdam Tourny a few years back and was stuck with em. Horrible lot, can't imagine what they're like to sit with at their own place!

First game I ever went to was our 3-1 loss to them in the league about 14/15 years ago.

I went up with some of my dad's work mates who were Arsenal season ticket holders and sat in the north bank of Highbury.

Shit scared was an understatement! (remembering I was only 12 at the time).

I did it two years ago when Fabregas walked through our entire side and scored their second straight from the restart from Van Persie's goal. It's a memory that will ensure I never do it again.

If you can keep quiet, stand up and clap at the 'appropriate' times, you'll be fine. But my g-d, it's tough.

 Perfect.

"I think it's about time they got rid of that joker Wenger, we haven't won anything in years!"

I've done it before. Very passive fans who say nothing at all unless they score. It's not great. If Spurs are winning, it hurts a bit but I suppose it beats the pub. If we lose or even draw though... then meh... may as well go to a Yid's pub.

That's the gamble with football.

One quick question Pimp Spur - will only apply if we win of course, it could be the difference between you having a boring time or one joyous, roaring moment of unparalleled fun at the scummy lout's collective expense.

How quick are you?

Went once, never again. I was impressed with the stadium but that's all. Watch it on TV or don't bother

Used to go into the North Bank with one or two other Spurs supporters almost every year during the 1970's....no scarves or colours....used to announce ourselves about a minute before kick off.......interesting:( In the early 80's lived in Leeds for four years and literally couldn't say a word for most games in the north standing/sitting with the locals. Difficult. Once in the Stretford end for the League Cup. Got in a few minutes after kick off. A local asked me the score....gulped as someone else told him that we were one up through Micky Hazard. Missed the winning goal but fortunately did not blow my coverEek

Really?

What was so good about it?

I reckon it's a shite bowl.

I've been twice - one in the away end at the 4-4 and also to a friendly between Brazil and Sweeden where I sat in the upper tier, which was just a stupidly long way away from the action.

Even in the lowere tier in the away section, it felt a long way from the pitch, despite me being only 15 odd rows from the front.

At the Lane, you're so close to the action no matter where you sit.

Plust their shote bowl is about as noisy as a cemetary at midnight.

It's massive for a start, but you knew that.

Smart card entry
Very wide passages inside the stadium
Food counters with wide frontage
I think there were plenty of toilets too

Basically it fixes all the things WHL does so badly. I don't buy all that bowl rubbish, who cares about the shape of the stadium! It's the fans that make the atmosphere, not the stadium. We have very quiet games and it's nothing to do with the stadium now.

All of those things are great points, but the detractions for me, in particular the distance from the pitch destroys everything positive about that stadium.

In Aus, our MCG is massive. Absolutely enourmous, but when you're sat up the back of any tier, it's like watching ants.

Big aint always best.

aaahhh memories.....early eighties too....

We would meet at manor house, walk through finsbury park....goons were terified of us.

It got a bit boring though...year after year..:)

One year even our schoolboys took their schoolboy terrace...it was hilarious.
