Don't get me wrong this is not a thread to say "we will catch them" because we all know how that goes when we get over excited but surely with their loss to Stoke today and their horrendous set of fixtures coming up we have a small but decent chance of catching them? Now this thread will mean nothing if we drop points tomorrow and I wouldn't put it past us either but a win tomorrow and the Spurs Arsenal white hart lane fixture looks a lot more tasty doesn't it? I think with Liverpool's win today they have almost guaranteed their CL place now unfortunately and are in superb form so does seem very unlikely we will catch them. Arsenal on the other hand are playing shit and games coming up I think they will drop but it's whether we can take advantage. Unfortunately I don't think we have the minerals for it :( thoughts?

Arsenal will drop off the other three, but I don't think we can maintain a challenge on them. Lets see where we are after the Liverpool game when we've played the top 7 home and away.

We have to get 7 points from Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. It will have to be like the end of season when we beat City for fourth!

Liverpool will drop if someone shatters their confidence. It may have to be us!

Yeh I agree it has that feeling of when we got 4th under Harry where we played those really hard 3 fixtures and won all 3 :) difference is our team were a lot better than now in my opinion in terms of playing as a team. We might have better individuals now but our team ethic was a lot better than. Win tomorrow and we still have a small chance atleast.

We have a small chance of catching arsenal and no chance of catching the other 3. Realistically arse 4 us 5

It would be fantastic if we did it and it's possible but IMO unlikely. I think we've got our work cut out to hold onto 5th.

We are both certainly overdue a reverse of the usual process of them catching us and buggering up another year so why not- definitely more likely than Liverpool now and if we beat arsenal at WHL we are only 3 points behind- Audere est facere and all that

We've yet to have our annual late season collapse so I'm not optimistic.

Saying that, maybe Arsenal's typical early season fuck-ups haven't happened so maybe they've been delayed to the late season.

Nothing in the whole world would make me happier than beating Arsenal to 4th spot.

A win tomorrow is very very important to stay in contact and get the confidence for the season defining month.

I'd be happy with the Europa League and 5th at this point. We lost far too many points under AVB, Sherwood's done brilliant so far with the league but I think catching Arsenal/Liverpool with the month we have upcoming is too big a task.

You realise 6th (if man city win tomorrow) maybe even 7th if one of top 4 win fa cup will get E.L stop this year. I think E.L is a given
