Archibald-Henville is the new Ledley King!!!

A slight exaggeration.

But contra those idiot goons (allegedly commentators) Archibald-Henville did look very confident on the ball. He was beaten a couple of times in the air - surprizingly because he's a big lad. But both Archibald-Henville and Dervitte look as if they could develop into good players.

How did Dervite play? He was supposed to be good before his injury.

Another accomplished performance, although he didn't have much to do, especially second half when we dominated. He was outshone tonight by Archibald-Henville, but he did have a free kick just deflected over.

The commentators are that good they just said great bit of skill by Taarabt even though he isn't playing

They listed him on the starting line up, and at one point the commentator said "i've watched him play professionally.."

If anything I'd say the performances by Gunter and Gilberto showed there wasn't much of a gap twixt ressie and first team football

both looked ok but not the pick of the night - at LB I just don't rate Gilberto - LM maybe - Gunter was given a torrid time by Traore in the first half though like spurs in general he looked better in the second

traore was the only player on the pitch (and that just for the first half) you could say was a class apart from the others

lots of our guys showed they could certainly be squad material - whether they could crack it consistently in the first team - we'll only find out by giving them a chance

I thought Pekhart Rose Hutton Archibald-Henville and Livermore all showed promise

I couldn't make my mind up re Dervite - I'm sure he was better than that pre-injury but I might be letting my prior knowledge cloud my judgement - so I pass on that and wish him all the best - he was/is a tremendous prospect

the comedy commentating on 'Taraabt' was priceless -

-and then when David Hutton came on - a classic chant 'you should have stayed in Scotland' from some gooner - apparently this Hutton (who's about 5ft 4) comes from Enfield

DC_Boy - interesting observations.

Gunter looked like he needed some basic defending lessons: a couple of times his body position was entirely wrong against Traore. However going forwards he looked very promising. Let's hope we have someone on the coaching staff who can work on his defending because then we could have quite a player.

Gilberto just doesn't like players running at him. However, he's got bags of ability and composure on the ball, so LM is definitely his EPL position.

I would send both Archibald-Henville (arguably our MoM) & Dervitte out on loan, to sharpen them up, and get them closer to first-team level. However, it was easy to see why Juande was impressed with A-H on his arrival at the club.

The big surprize for me was Danny Rose. He played a very disciplined, deep, CM role, looking to break up the play and pass it simply. He was very effective, but it was impossible to tell whether he is a potential solution to our LM problem.
