Stop rewriting history, Trippier was average for us and needed to move on, he's now in a different environment playing well again but it's doubtful he'd be playing this well for us, also when was the last time he whipped in balls and was a threat?

Trippier was average last season and his confidence drained away. However I would say he was good in the seasons before that. Whipped in some fine crosses, made some assists and defended well. A shame if he'll only be remembered for his final season. I hope he does well in Spain.

I think Danny boy needs to do a Google search for 'how to ease pressure on your defence with seconds of the first half left to play'

Still really disappointed with the attitude and commitment of the team

Especially in the 2nd half. They wanted it more. They won just about every 50 50 tackle. They were more aggressive in anticipating and winning 2nd balls. Where they were hostile our lot were passive....trying to nick the ball with the ends of their toes while our opponents were looking to take man and ball

Simply not acceptable for the NLD

We got away with a draw because overall we have better players than them. The got a draw because they played with more intensity than us.

Thing is everytime we hassled like they did they fell over and a foul was won! But yes we should be hassling harder and should have kept Lamela on instead of swapping him for Alli who didn't really work hard.

A couple of good and a couple of bad things. We scored early and were better from the get-go than previous rounds. But I don't think we played very well, and were wasteful and easily put under pressure.
Part of the problem is we put ourselves under pressure too often we let leads slip when the opposition turn up the heat we melt.

I've woken up fairly positive today.

It was clear from yesterday our three weakest positions were RB, LB and Holding/Defensive midfield.

RB - I think either of Foyth or KWP would have put in a better performance than Sanchez. He was awful. Having even one of these two back from injury will give us better defensive stability.

LB - Davies has to come in for the Palace game. I don't know what it is about Rose, but he's looked terrible for the last 3 matches. We have genuine quality on the bench in Davies, I think we should use him. He's limited in terms of his attacking threat, but he makes me feel at ease defensively.

DM/HM - with Ndombele and Dier injured this was always going to be an area we would struggle yesterday. I know Ndombele isn't a DM, but I'm sure he would have provided much better defensive cover yesterday than Winks or Sissoko. It has to be Ndombele and one of Dier, Winks or Sissoko depending on the opposition from now on. Assuming Ndombele stays fit.

Hindsight is a beautiful thing, but had we played the match yesterday with Davies, KWP/Foyth and Ndombele I think we would have controlled the game comfortably.

I know this will upset a lot of people but the arsenal fans were brilliant for their team yesterday. They were all up for it and cheered and jeered every passage of play and I believe made a huge contribution in how their players kept going and going. There’s definitely a lesson to be learned there for our home games because so far apart from the palace and Man City game the atmosphere has been pretty dire which is a crying shame considering the stadium that we’ve got.

Look where the bloke starts.

"lazy" is just a very lazy way to describe it. He's a poor finisher but lazy he definitely is not. Fucking hell the bloke literally dragged the momentum in our favour in the last ten minutes. He's the very opposite of "lazy".

If he had the ball skills of Toure he'd be the best player in the world.

Agree. He isn't lazy. I also think he really tries and also really cares. That's not something you can say for every footballer. And I like that about him

But I can't fathom how technically he's so poor. He does do a good job at times driving us forward, but to counter those who say it's not his job to score etc, I would say that as a midfielder it's an expectation that you're going to be in and around their box to either shoot, assist, build attacking play. And because the ball often looks like it's a bloody toblerone at at his feet you know that opportunities we have in the opposition's defensive third will be extinguished when he shoots or tries to play a killer or incisive pass.

But he works damn hard and gives his all for now the shirt. And you cannot knock him for that.

NLD, Burnley game was dead in parts. You could hear our lads in the away end for the majority of the game yesterday.

It's probably been said already, but I thought Kane was going to square it to Lo Celso for an easy tap in. I don't mind our players playing dirty, it's part of the game for any top club, but I was disappointed to see Kane going for the penalty instead of the pass.

To continue a long running theme, I long for the day we stop taking short goal kicks and realise that if we're going to have a 50/50 chance of ending up in posession after a phase of play directly following a goal kick, we're better off with that 50/50 chance being taken inside the oppositions's half rather than inside our own box.

All risk, no meaningful reward to how we currently do this.
I've been saying it for a year. It not only p..... me off but it scares the life out of me and nothing ever comes from it.

Highly unlikely, dier for sure . But Ndombele as of now is not doing the work Sissoko is doing covering

Not really when you have Ndombele, Celso, Alli and Eriksen.
Interesting, you want attacking minded players sitting deep? Or you mean we won't play a deep sitting midfielder and open ourselves up it'll be like Ossie has returned for one more go of 'we'll score one more than you' ... ?

I think this team is crying out for a CM Enforcer. We’ve had two of the best in recent seasons (Dier and Wanyama), but they seem to have dropped off in quality due to injury etc etc.. If Dier can actually get fit, I see him as the one for this season. Unfortunately I think Wanyama has past his peak. Skipp is good, but I think it’s too early for him. Fingers crossed on Dier’s fitness then!

Whether Kane was trying to initiate contact or not is irrelevant. I had to watch it a few times before I realised the Arsenal player gives him a two handed shove in the back.
Salah got penalties for being breathed on last season.

You think that dump is like yesterday for any other game apart from against us?
Their team and fans always turn up for us.

Particularly when he’s so capable of pulling that type of pass off. Most frustrating moment of the match.

GLC could have been a VDV type of hero.
