They're already caving by extending Elneny, just like they did Xhaka. So much for a young team with 3 of their CM over 29.

No more ridiculous fees received for average players.

Poor relationships with Saliba, Torreira, Bellerin, AMN all returning.

Still got £110m to pay off for last transfer windows.
This is the loop they're in. They have an underperforming player on a high salary so cannot sell. Then when his contract is running out they either lose the player on a free or extend and get the joy of keeping the underperforming player for another couple of years.

They've made a couple of decent signings in Tomiyasu and Odegaard but they still need to improve in this area before they start to really improve.

Yeah he's a spurs fan. I think troopz invited him thinking Arsenal had top 4 in the bag.
I'm sure I heard somewhere that they were cousins. Troopz has a lot of Spurs fans in his family so that would make sense. Also maybe that's why he also kept it buttoned when being goaded. Not often he's quiet ?

I think it's important Arsenal get off to a good start next season. We need them to have hope. I think they play some pretty football here and there. Really want them in touch so to speak, with the hope of challenging the top 6. My fear is the will be battling 8th again. A disastrous start and we could see them bite the bullet and sack Arteta and they could end up with a decent manager. The longer they keep Arteta the better really.
What makes you think theyll actually get a good coach though?

Race For Top 4 - Arsemania

March 1st

SA_Gunner - (Posts form table showing Arsenal top since Christmas) I know we missed out on Vlahovic who wouldnt have just helped us for top four but take us to third IMO, but these are promising numbers and gives some insight into the "January gamble". The key now is to continue this run of form through to the end of the season.

  • Champions league music at the emirates babyyyyy
  • Feels like we’re the most consistent and capable of the challengers, only issue is when we wobble in the big games it tends to have a hangover on us. But, if I were to be completely honest, it’s 3rd we should be aiming for and entirely achievable. If it does come back, we should be aiming for at least 3rd in our group next season. (SA_Gunner)
  • When Liverpool dropped out of Europe completely they challenged for the title. That's not realistic now but we shouldn't underestimate how much of an advantage it is only playing once a week.
  • We absolutely should be targeting 3rd now, imo.
  • It's in our own hands. If we do the business, it's in the bag. Decent position to be in.
  • We're in a good position. Our fate is in our own hands. If we don't get 4th it'll be our own fault irrespective of what Man Utd and Sp**s do.
  • I am still worried abt Sp**s..kane is showing some form and they have a better fixture list.
  • I think our ability to take advantage when our rivals slip up is a bit underrated.
  • Surely we can’t mess it up from here…
  • For me, we look more like a team than United and Sp**s. Things are looking rosy now, but I suspect there might be some twists and turns before the season is over.
  • The remaining away fixtures all very tricky today was the easiest of them maybe Newcastle the easiest from the remaining away games
  • We have enough for three losses with respect to United and West Ham, and two losses with respect to Sp**s. That said, those losses should not be "wasted" on Leicester home, Villa away, Palace away, Brighton home.
  • I still think we got some tough fixtures left, and our squad is rather thin. We're screwed if we get Partey injured and Xhaka suspended. Both are quite likely scenarios.
  • Chelsea will drop off a lot of points due to instability, I genuinely think we can finish third.
  • Whoever wins out of Sp**s-Man U on Sunday is likely to be our main rival for 4th. Personally hoping for a draw, or a Man U win. I'm more confident of beating Man U at the Emirates later than I am Sp**s away.
  • We will be 6 points clear of Sp**s, with a game in hand over them, at the end of this weekend's results...then we will beat United at The Carpet, to open up a gap over them.
  • We need 20 points from 13 games hopefully we can do it neither Sp**s or Manutd are getting 70 points. So 68 should be enough. (wrong)
  • We can beat United and we should beat Sp**s... We want top 4? We need to secure those matches, that's winner mentality. We don't need to make numbers, just win and beat them to show them who is the boss.
  • We're more then capable of bottling this.
  • Already started singing the CL theme every morning whilst I’m in the shower. Would have to shower in tears this summer, if that ends up happening.

Race For Top 4 - Arsemania

After beating Leicester - Utd beating Spurs - March 13th
  • 3rd is properly in play now.
  • I personally think top 4 is in the bag for us. Even if we had a monumental collapse neither United or Sp**s are capable of putting a run of results together.
  • It'd take such a capitulation to finish top 4 now. We have a pressure free game Vs Liverpool at home and I think a draw is something we can definitely achieve. I don't see how we don't finish top 4.
  • Sewn up now. Brilliant stuff, could never have seen this happening before the season started. Now let’s put a statement out against Liverpool.
  • I still worry injuries could get us in trouble. Injury to Partey with a suspension for Xhaka and we're practically without a midfield. We'll need a bit of luck in the injury department.
  • I'd like us to make a statement midweek, and clearly beat Liverpool. And its possible. If we can do this, we arent only getting closer to top four. We are starting to announce ourselves to those who dont see our progression week by week. (SA_Gunner)
  • A win against Liverpool will "strike fear into the hearts of our enemies" and will be a big statement from us.
  • My sources telling me we need 6-7 more wins from 12 to get top 4. Easily achievable.
  • At this point I'm honestly looking up the table thinking we might catch Chelsea more than I'm worried about those below us lol.
  • We'll be making a race for top 1 thread next season.
  • If we look at the fixture list. Palace villa west ham away. Yet to play chelsea Sp**s man utd and liverpool. Newcastle away will also be tricky. I think it will be difficult to achieve top four as Sp**s have comparatively easier fixture list and kane is back in form (was laughed at, but they were spot on back in March)
  • Tottenham has 5 points less and one game more than us. No, it won't be difficult, but yes we have to perform at normal levels to achieve it. We even have +7 better goal difference than Tottenham, which will amount to one point basically if we can keep it this way.
  • The point was that if us having 5 points more and one game less, plus the goal difference, at this point of the season is difficult for top 4, I wonder what the scale is.
  • i just wanted to point out, our GD isnt actually good for a team with 5more points. If they make up the points, that might be enough for them and we'll lose out on GD
  • Btw we are 6 points ahead of Sp**s not 5
  • We can beat Leeds Brighton manutd and Everton all at home. In PL every away game is struggle but if we in mood Villa Crystal palace Southampton and Newcastle all winnable.
  • There is still a long way to go and yes we still have to navigate some tricky games but we are in far better position than Sp**s or United.
  • If you're serious about being a decent side you take at least 4 points from Man Utd at home and Sp**s away. There's nothing to fear from those sides.
  • The good news for us neither manutd and Sp**s are world beaters.Neither of them finishing with more than 65 points
  • Sp**s only have an easier run in on paper. Recently they have beat Man City but lost to Middlesbrough and Burnley. I almost fancy them less against a team they should beat comfortably.
  • Gary Neville now expects Arsenal to finish 4th
  • In the latest betting odds, Arsenal are at 69% (#NICE), with Manchester United at 20% (still higher than projection systems), Tottenham at 18% and West Ham at 5%.
  • Every prediction gives about 70% chance for Arsenal to end top 4, while Tottenham gets like 15%. So it's obvious that for Tottenham it is difficult to end up top 4, not us.
  • We also have 6pts more and one game in hand on Spurs
  • Hard to see us get top4 seeing the fixture list we have left. I didnt know about it. I wonder what people have been smoking lately. Guess some just love to set Arteta up to failure.
  • Yes our games are pretty hard. With the form we've shown though I'm still quietly confident of us finishing 4th regardless (as are many on here).

March 16th Just before Liverpool game - Someone posted most inform teams in Europe last 10 games - Arsenal sit top with 25 pts, followed by Barcelona, Man City, Liverpool and Bayern

  • Perform well tonight and draw/lose and we'll remain quietly confident about our chances. Lose heavily and we will be thrown into civil war again, with the Bumteta Out's back in full swing going on about I told you so.Perform convincingly and win the game tonight, and I think many here will be convinced that top four would literally be around the corner. SA_Gunner (literally around the corner?)
  • Remember Emery, should've got 4th but those Crystal palace and Brighton games i never forget how he just throw it away

I don't know if this is satire and, if not, which game they're even referring to.

Did that lovely person also mention Arteta flagrant abuse of the COVID protocols to get the game postponed? Cause we have proof for that.

I think they're referring to the derby, by which point I can only assume they think it was match-fixed by their own squad, without our knowledge
Someone in the comments is saying he means the Burnley game.

Still ignores that they had it in their own hands going up to Newcastle.
