As i said in another thread.

I think the Palace win was a good result for them and they actually wasnt very good but fair play.

Their other 4 games have come agaisnt arguably the worst 4 teams in the league right now. If they were battering them for 3s and 4s then I'd be concerned but they are scraping by and getting over the line.

Leicester - calamitous keeping and defending cost Leicester. A team in disarray
Bournemouth - finishing 20th
Fulham - late keeping blunder against a promoted club
Villa - another late goal against a club in disarray.

I know you can only beat whos in front of you but I'm not concerned about them at this moment in time.

That's the context a lot of people are conveniently ignoring.

“Spuds will play utter dogsh*t football for 90% of the season and finish above us.”

SA Gunner in reply:
“Let’s see how they do when teams sit tight and give them the ball.

Conte needs to bring in an AM to give them a chance of finishing in the top 4.”

“Tottenham has pretty tough schedule.

They have City in between the next Marseille and Sporting matches.

Then before next two matches against Frankfurt, they play us away before them and in the middle is Brighton away.

They didn't get the worst group in UCL, but they got a group where there is no bad teams which is nice.

Marseille was the worst draw from pot 4 and ruined the good group for them.”

“Tottenham looks average to me. I predict they miss top 4 to Chelsea.”

“This thread was a hilarious read before the season began. People were saying they had the best transfer window in the league, the bums know who they are - won’t shame you.

Decent squad who play awful, awful football.”

“Absolutely hate these bellends so much, delighted they dropped more points.

Lucky to get even a draw, own goal and West Ham should have scored at least 1 more

****s.”

SA Gunner with a zinger: “Wait until they realise that Conte is a fraud, a poundland Mourinho ”

“They have looked very poor so far. No way they continues this lucky for the season should have lost atleast 2 games so far. Refs and commentators still love them”

“The Contesexuals will never give up.”

“Nothing changes year after year.

Play **** football, hope that Kane and Son can steal games on the counter.

Meanwhile those two get older and older.”

“Sanchez is so poor on the ball as well as Lloris so it invited West Ham to pressure, then once Sp**s got out of the press it was on for Kane Son Kulu.

I think Sp**s can get some success against low block because Kulu will be creative and Bissouma may be better at stopping counters against them.”

We're the Athletico Madrid of the UK right now. People have got to embrace it, like the Athletico fans do. We're the villains.

I think Conte has seen that City, and Pool to an extent, are too good, at pretty football, to be touched, so he's picked another route to win... that's disingenuous, he never played sparkling football, just winning football. That's always been his MO. Be top or near top by Christmas and then go.

I truly believe once the league really start's getting congested, our more Conservative tactics will come to the fore. Pressing hard 3 times a week takes it's toll, especially with a thin squad.

Right now people are clouded because they're supposedly playing amazing football and winning against bums. Let's see how it plays out.

If they keep this up and win the league, I still won't congratulate them, but fair play.

Fuck Arsenal. We're fucking Tottenham.

We need some positivity because why the fuck not.
Easy to forget that we were probably the best team in the league in those final 10 games.

Luiz not leaving Aston Villa

Sky Sports News chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol:
"Douglas Luiz will not be leaving Aston Villa. That's what the club have been saying all day - the player is not for sale.

"Some of the people involved in the negotiations are a little bit bemused because they were led to believe towards the end of last week that Villa would listen to offers of around £20m for Luiz.

"He hadn't really been starting games under Steven Gerrard and he's out of contract in the summer."

I hope this is true... Apparently Partey and Elneny are injured again for several weeks... so vital that they don't sign Luiz ????

They look massively short now with toughest part of season about to start. Got themselves in a decent position look like they’ve blown it to me, exactly what they did in January very odd.

#Eduout trending on Twitter. Half because they want him sacked for not buying a midfielder and half complaining the hashtag is trending whilst using said hashtag.

Likewise, Arsenal Mania has come to the realisation, after a couple of injuries in midfield, that their squad is really, really thin. Like who knew?

'Ben White is now cover for right back, central midfield, left midfield, right wing. He might give it a go if Ramsdale goes down as well. Why not?'

Well, anything's better than playing him at centre back, I guess.

One poster has checked out the departures and just asked the perfectly reasonable question 'Who is playing in the EL for us'. The answer? 'Get your boots on'.

Meanwhile, Fabio Vieira, previously hailed as the greatest wonderkid ever, is now apparently 'a cherry on the top signing when we don't even have a cake'...

While the general mood is summed up by the subtitle given to their deadline day thread, namely 'Much Edu about Nothing'.

Still, it's hard to beat this contribution from one overwrought poster. 'Edu has blood on his hands. Fuming right now' he writes. Oh dear. :ROFLMAO:

I'm feeling better about things now that a Goon mate and a bin dippers fan on a WhatsApp thread are worried they didnt strengthen in midfield and defence. I just wish we had got a couple more in coz we could have had a good run at City this season (and if Haaland were to break down at some point)

Not sure how they've been lauded for having a great window tbh.

The signed Jesus to replace Aubameyang/Lacazette, Zinchenko as depth and Viera who remains to be seen how much impact he would have.

They haven't massively strengthened like we have. They signed two first XI level players, two young players and a back up keeper.

Partey and El Neny are already injured and the European fixtures haven't started as yet. If Saka goes down he has no cover as they've let go Pepe.

Really baffled as to how our own fans, much less media are over hyping them so much. They really aren't much better than last season.

This is the stuff of dreams.

Way, way better than the last few days of Arsenal being the wet dream and the wanksock of quite a few on here who should know better.

I was working in a shop today in Great Yarmouth.
The woman behind the counter was a Gooner.
She was moaning like fk about them not getting a penalty last night.
Every other person who came in seemed to be a Gooner. She went on about it non stop for the 3 hours I was in there.
We got talking. Told her I was a Spurs fan.
She then asked me what I thought of Kane. She didn't rate him! " Yeah he's scored a lot but how many if you take away the penalties?'
Err.... a fucking lot I replied. Should have sold him she said.
What did you think of the Chelsea match she asked? She thought both our goals should have been chalked off. So predictable.
Ffs I thought, they are totally obsessed with us.
If you dont rate Kane then frankly you're an idiot who knows nothing about football. I ignored her after the Kane comment as realised she's obviously a bitter idiot.
I have no doubt the wheels are gonna fall off their wagon soon (again). Can't wait.

I'd say they've improved their XI but not their squad depth and that will be a crucial factor between now and the World Cup playing two games a week every week. Assuming they don't play their U18s in the EL.

Whereas we have kind of done the opposite, arguably our XI isn't significantly improved but we have a lot more options and tweaks Conte can make that should be the difference over a long season.

Remember that Mourinho season when we were top at Christmas? Fixture pileups, injuries and the Europa League ultimately killed it because of lack of depth in the squad. Patience.

They literally couldn’t have had an easier start if they hand picked it. Massively struggling Villa Leicester. Atrocious Bournemouth, average Fulham. They even caught palace off virtually no pre season. Honestly had they brought 2 or 3 more in I’d have been concerned but they might now have smallest squad in league with Thursday/Sunday to come.

some more context, apologies if i've messed it up. here are their fixtures/results this season compared to last (as per game by game comparison - not sure if anyone's done this yet?)

palace (a) - L/W +3
lei (h) - W/W +0
bou (a) - W/W +0 ** equates to watford
fulham (h) - W/W +0 ** equates to norwich
villa (h) - W/W +0

so this amazing, world beating, all conquering footballing juggernaut everyone is lauding has improved on last season's results by 3pts, we're already +8 on where we were. game by game is the ONLY worthwhile measurement of improvement imo, especially where it's clear they've had deflections and gifts galore so far.

fuck. them.

The final proof that there is no rivalry between Arsenal and Chelsea is how little is spoken about Aubameyang going from Arsenal captain to Chelsea player within a couple of months.

Very happy they didn't get Luiz or anyone else yesterday. Games coming thick and fast now for them so their small squad will have to really dig deep and hope to stay injury free.

Want Utd to win so much this Sunday against these twats

Let's see how they get on with 18 games in 69 days with the squad they currently have. A game virtually every 3.5 days till 12th November. They already have Partey, Zinchenko & Elneny out which means Xhaka & Lokonga playing every single game, and the permacrock Tierney having to start every game.

It's going to be a really tough period for all teams in Europe over the next 10 weeks.

Just looking at their squad on Fantasy Football which lists players who have knocks, injured etc.

Ramsdale, Zinchenko, Odegaard all carrying knocks but should play.

Partey, Nelson and Elneny all injured.

Bellerin contract cancelled.

Two strikers on the books Jesus and Nketiah.

Thin, thin, thin.
