Not sure what's funny about it. If you show utter incompetence in any profession you are fired. This was one of those decisions where there was no "maybe" about it. The Fourth official involved himself in a decision that was completely and utterly wrong - bizarrely wrong.

Opens the game up to accusations of match-fixing unless there's a public accounting for the decision and consequences.

Hardly controversial position I would have thought.

As I said in my original post - everyone makes mistakes and you accept that.

But this was worse than a "mistake". There was, in my opinion, simply no rational reason for the Fourth official to intervene like he did and get it so so wrong. Especially when those officials have a notorious history for never getting involved.

Now if you think it was an honest mistake that anyone could make fine - say so. But I can't remember seeing a worse decision - compounded by the fact that it was the by-line officials who never get involved.

That's why I think there has to be an accounting to help restore trust in the overall system. It's not a controversial position to take I would have thought.

But if you think it was an honest mistake that any ref could and often does make - fine. Didn't look that way to me. Looked really bizarre.

Edit: and No, this has nothing to do with Arsenal. It's to do with the overall situation. As I thought was clear.
