The idea that he "hasn't had the tools" and that they've exceeded expectations this season is pretty thin and I'm surprised that many of them want to continue swallowing that after the way this season has ended. They have by all accounts exceeded expectations this season, but that expectations were so low to begin with is entirely of their own doing. The money that they've spent over the past few seasons, under the same manager, to be going into a season expecting sod all is nobody's fault but their own. The bloke is a complete fraud.

Fantastic result on the last day of the season to secure 5th spot

I don’t care what anybody else says, they should extend Artetas new contract to a 7 year deal

Why do Barstool fly that mofo to Philly for a stream where he just sulked then walked off for most of it then decided to lose his rag with one of the production team.
what an embarrassment of a human.
I ain’t watched video, but if it’s troops, he wasn’t the first to go over, but they still pay a kings ransom for some illiterate nonsense. He’s rolling in it due to leveraging followers

Just caught Arteta’s post-match interview. “We were two points short.” Mmmm, OK, I’ll give you those two points, how does it look now? Gooner halfwit.

It's difficult to judge Arteta. Arsenal have set the bar so low over the past 2 seasons that a young group securing 5th and, at times, playing some nice football can be seen as an improvement.

But there's one standout argument I've seen on Arsemania - what would Arteta have done with Kane in Conte's position? Looking at how he dealt with Auba, he would've alienated him, refused to play him and then been forced to sell him on the cheap.

The thin, inexperienced squad they have, despite dropping 100s of millions, was Arteta's choice and now they need to spends 100s more to have a chance at another top 4 run.

A good manager can't exist in a vacuum of young, nice players. They need to know how to win players over and create unity, while I think Arteta struggles with egos and is too much of a control freak to adapt.

For that reason I think he'll always hold them back while he's in charge.

Getting Europe now means that they have no other option but to bulk buy a few players. They have an incredibly small squad of players, with the back ups of a very low quality. They seem fairly well covered at CB, but at full backs they struggle, Tierney is good but incredibly injury prone.

Midfield they are a basket case with Partey being their only decent one and again he can’t string more than 3 games together before getting injured.

Up too they have some decent players in ESR, Saka, Martinelli and Odegaard however if one of those gets injured the drop on quality is enormous. With Lacazette and Nketiah most likely leaving they also do not have a single recognised striker.

Add another 10-15 games with Europe and possibly going further in the cups and that squad will get stretched to its limit which will affect their league form. They need to spend an awful lot of money this summer.

Their biggest problem is Arteta though. A deeply unlikeable person who is even turning the West Ham and Chelsea fans to favour us over them. He has alienated 5/6 players already and has only one way of playing football. All I ask for is they keep him for another 10 years as they will bounce in and out of Europe on a regular basis, but with the emergence of Newcastle, Utd getting Ten Hag and us being back in the CL I don’t think they will be coming close to 4th any time soon.

The best thing about Arteta is that in his three year tenure, and despite spending £300m+, he has yet to match the 70 points total that the Spanish chap that was sacked for not being good enough and who was there such a short time that I can't even remember his name!

And despite that he's convinced the lion's share of the media that Arsenal are making progress and he's doing a good job.

It's amazing for us, really. Many managers in Arteta's shoes would have been sacked 3 times by now but for whatever reason they've gone all on in him.

If you work with Arsenal fans, then i recommend downloading an app called Zedge which will allow you to set your ringtone and notification tone to the Champions league music. Lovely way to do a bit of trolling without saying anything.

I think it's important Arsenal get off to a good start next season. We need them to have hope. I think they play some pretty football here and there. Really want them in touch so to speak, with the hope of challenging the top 6. My fear is the will be battling 8th again. A disastrous start and we could see them bite the bullet and sack Arteta and they could end up with a decent manager. The longer they keep Arteta the better really.
