evrey ne keeps sayin sign bentley replace lennon get wright phillips get j.cole but know one has mentioned ashley young. imo i think young on the left and lennon on the right would be brilliant i think he would be the ideal signing for the left he has evreything pace, brilliant crosser of the ball, deadly at free kicks, he got a good shot and we could probably get him for around 10-14 mil. thought?

villa paid 10mill for him, they are financially very sound and are on the up.....wont happen.

i think hes not that good anyway, he has palyed on the left alot this season, and he does well, his set pieces are decent . But there is nothing special/dynamic to his game. Bentley has an ability to do something special, Young doesnt.

I think its just another media knee-jerk reaction to a young english player showing a bit of ability

Young has been brilliant this season. But I think he actually works best in a 4-3-3 system, in the AML role.

But Aston Villa won't sell him unless someone offers 15, probably 20m+ as he is one of their best players. The same goes with Bentley. And they both wouldn't want to join us. Them both would not deny a chance to play with the top4 but if they had to choose between their own club or Spurs I think they would just stay where they are at.

also with ashley (who is better than bentley imo) he can play upfront in case of emergency so if we sign him and a back up left mid or keep steed we dont need to spend more money on another striker

Agbonlahor is pretty useful too but i got a feeling that if Lennon played in a 4-3-3 formation he would look twice the players both ashley young and agbonlahor is..

There is absolutely no way that we should sell 20-YEAR-OLD Aaron Lennon and I would think us very foolish if we did

I see little chance of us signing Ashley Young, and while he is good I think we need to be buying a naturally left-footed left-winger - we already have Malbranque and Taarabt after all

he is a left-winger, but he is naturally right-footed (though admittedly he does have a good left)

Not worth it we should boarden our horizons and look further afield hence the European market, rather then spend cash on another unproven england upstart.

we already have Malbranque

Yes, replace Steed at our peril. Just watch our LB position get ripped to shreds (more than it has) without Steed in the team. If Bale earns himself the LB spot, he will be mincemeat without Steed covering him.

chimbomba was awsoem as a left back against pompi

admittedly, they did not really threaten him so he was able to play his football

We really should have gone all out for him last season, I couldn't understand why teams were willing to pay that much, but he's proved everyone who thought that wrong.

Fantastic player.

I would like to see him in a spurs shirt but just not gonna happen yet, also Steed has done an excellent job on the left.

Young has had a good season. I get the impression that he was on a list for Spurs targets before Villa paid up. I reckon he was just too expensive given what we knew about him at the time. I still think that was a fair decision given the facts at the time but it turns out that he might have been worth paying up for him. Classic Type II error.

No point going in for him now though. Don't think he'd be better than Steed in the bigger picture who offers so much more in his broader game. For one thing Steed gets back excellently and his timing on tackles is outstanding.

he would be a great signing.... him and lennon would scare the shit out of full backs.... however im not sure that lennon will be here next season and not sure we would splash the cash on Young when there are better wingers in spain and portugal who would be cheaper

Always cuts back onto his right foot to cross. This isn't a problem for me really, but definitely would be to our fans.
