I dunno. They're playing really bad. They're struggling for goals and only scored one goal since Shearer arrived. They have to beat Boro otherwise there as good as down(I don't see them winning there last two games) and hopefully the pressure will get to them

Hull have Stoke(H), Bolton (A) and Man Utd(H). 2 points might be enough to see them safe.

Boro would be OK if they had a couple of strikers who could put the ball into the back of the net, because they create a fair number of chances and really aren't that bad a footballing side. Unfortunately for them, whilst Tuncay's a pretty classy player he's not a heavy scorer, and Aliadiere and Alves are just plain hopeless. One thing putting seven past Heracles in the Eredivisie, but even the weakest EPL defences are a lot stronger than that.

I feel sorry for Downing. He's put a quite ridiculous number of crosses in and there's not one half-decent striker to get on the end of them.

Boro have to beat Newcastle (as in turn Newcastle have to beat them). That is going to be a massive game and surely the winner is likely to condem the other team to Championship football.

Personally I still think Newcastle will get out of it, Hull and Boro to join WBA in the Championship next year (though I'd love the Toon to crash and burn)
