These conditions can cause injuries especially a NDombele with his turning etc. Im sure Jose will adjust a bit as the game goes on but for now its going to be physical

Dont know why people expected Tanguy to start this game when we have 3 games in 6 days. Chances are we go with a midfield 3 against RB and Chelsea. Much better games for him to play in with Lo Celso and Winks rather than in a 2 today.

I can understand it with the fixture pile up... however I’d be curious as to the odds on cards for Dier if he is the one assigned to Grealish.

Dier loves a leap in, Grealish is brilliant at dangling the ball out there and then nicking it away.

Dele must be happy Dier is starting, he’s the one player that will stop you lot bitching about him from the off ?

Looks like we're rotating for the Leipzig game

not sure we should prioritising the champions league game... the league is our best option of getting back into it. Don’t get me wrong obviously want to beat Leipzig and go as far as we can. But given our position in the league not sure we are on a position to rotate

But he's shown he can have a real impact with a 20 minute display. Villa have injury issues so we shouldn't run into too many problems and if we do we have some real quality on the bench in Gedson, Ndombele and Lo Celso. If resting him now means we can have him have a bigger impact vs Leipzig I'm all for it.

Second half according to the conditions we can bring out the Spin Bowlers

It’s a very negative and one dimensional line up. Tanganga shouldn’t have been dropped and Dier ffs.

I think thanks to Villa injuries we can take a risk, we have quality on the bench, we haven't left them at home so if things get sticky we can adjust.

With all due respect, the 11 we have chosen should be able to get the job done vs this line up.

What is it with people in here? Given the recent fitness of some of the players in question and the games we have coming up, we were never going to go out full strength today, unless we wanted to see this team line up in midweek ... Perhaps an argument for Skipp ahead of Dier, but given the circumstances, i'd say the decision was fair enough.

Oh no. Just go down the flanks against us. Attack Serge who has brainfarts at times. Ben Davies who hasn’t played in a while. That’s our weak points.

I agree with you lot, im so furious and upset that im not even going to watch the game. Bollocks to Jose Mourinho and his coaching team, i'm going to go with the experts on here and boycott it before the match starts as is the correct thing to do.

If anyone needs me im going to be stood in the rain shouting at clouds.

It's been a week and a half since our last matchday so the matchday thread has built up complaining and whingeing to release.

I agree with Mourinho in this case.Lets see the conditions and wherher the players can hold their feet. Big Boots will be better than speed and nuance in this one
