The last time we won at Anfield in the League. We've never done the double over Liverpool in the Premier League. The last time we done the double over Liverpool in the League was in the First Division in 1989/1990. We won both games 1-0. So only 2 decades since then.

Just thought i'd highlight just how big a task we have on our hands this Wednesday  Although i do think this is our best chance of doing it. COYS!

I've only been to Anfield twice and saw us win both times!

1-0 in 1984, they year the Titanic was found and our first win at Anfiled since 1912, the year the Titanic sank. Garth Crooks scored the winner on an unforgetable day.

2-1 Fa Cup QF with Teddy and Jurgen, soured by our semi collapse.

84/85 season - played March 1985

I was standing in the middle of the Kop for that one, and I was also there again in October 1986 to see Clive Allen get the winner.

I can't believe the 85 win is now 25 years ago in two months ! Wow.

Mind you I have been to Liverpool on plenty of occasions when we lost, the first time was in the UEFA semi final in April 1973 with Ray Clemence playing a blinder for them.

The only highlight I've had in my trips to Liverpool was the Edman goal :-(

Crooksie:drool: - my boyhood hero, well, after GHodd, of course (oh, aye, and Mickey Hazzard:beer:).

So, what is the point of this post - we should start dredging the Thames for shipwrecks:shrug:

You are of course right TCO, it was the 84/85 season and the Titanic wreck was discovered in 85. If I remember correctly it was a couple of weeks before we played Liverpool at Anfield. There was a big build up in the press about our last win there being the year it sank and could the discovery of the wreck be an omen that we were going to break a 73 year hoodoo without winning there.

We obviously won and a famous Tottenham tale was born!

Like you I was in a Liverpool section of the ground with a couple of mates, sitting along the touchline. We couldn't contain ourselves when garth scored and went potty, we had police in front of us for the rest of the game just in case we were murdered and we had to wait about half an hour afterwards before daring to leave.

Heady and great days!

That's weird, a couple of days ago I was looking in an old junk shop with Mrs BC and a huge model of the titanic caught my eye.

Omen.

I was there in 1994, aged 7 and had to stand on my seat to see the game - what a memory in one of my first away games.

That was, I think, at the arse end of when the Fa Cup actually meant something, I remember how everyone went mad when Jurgen scored, it really stuck with me. When people my age dismiss the Fa Cup it's weird because I must have been part of a tiny majority of young people who saw first hand the Fa Cup as it was meant to be.

My dad always talks about that 1984 game, about how beating Liverpool at anfield in those days was as rare as a Didier Zokora leftfooted overhead kick goal.

This wednesday, we have never had a better chance of beating them.

My first ever Spurs game that 1985 Anfield win.

Didn't we beat them at Anfield in 1998 or 1999 in the League Cup and Liverpool sacked Roy Evans on the back of that defeat?

Omen for Rafa?

Do you remember in that 85 game Clemence making an unbelievable save from Phil Neal in the last minute? I will never ever forget that save or that moment, it was as good as winning a trophy!

I surely do.
I was with a mate and about 10 mickey mousers who were were staying with up there - They were not so much stunned but stupified - Crying into their beers after the game ! It just wasn't the expected thing to do, especially as that old Liverpool always had a knack of winning or equalising very late on in matches, just like L'Arse do today.
