I'd ask all the people criticising him and questioning his commitment and effort whether, if it were a different player, say Michael Dawson for example, who had been missing through a family crisis would the fans be on his back? I think a lot of this unfair judgement from "fans" is based on Adebayor's reputation as much as anything else. If the situation is truly as we have been led to believe by the club and the player and it is to do with a family bereavement then I think as fans all we should be doing is showing the player our full support.

I have my opinion because he's personally demonstrated it in his performances.

I support him each time he takes the field and I only ask for a competent and professional performance in return.

On saturday he was in the tunnel with the players as they were coming out, chatting and so on.

I think he cares more than most people think.

Now, imagine he comes back and plays amazing.

Because he can.

Think of that, and the strength/options it gives us...

I don't think any true spurs fan would hate the guy if he came back. Knuckled down and started showing us what he originally bought to the club when he was on loan. IF. And it's a big if. He can do that I will be the first to issue an apology thread. Over to you mr Adebayor

Jermaine Defoe has had not one but several family crisis's over the last 18months. He has been cut zero slack and had a large majority on here laying into him any chance they get.

I hope Ade comes back and plays well with hunger and commitment from now on but the onus is on him to prove his commitment to me and the rest of the fans, not the other way round.

I am sick of wrapping these players in cotton wool....you play for us , you get paid a kings ransom, man up and give your all for the cause ...or fuck off.

Remember his peno against Basel? Remember his reaction? Remember your reaction?

You mean the one where he turned round after missing and was so embarrassed that he didn't know what to do and so just had a nervous "OMG what have I done" smile on his face?

Yeah I remember. I felt pissed that he'd missed but also knew how he felt because like any other human being he messed up and had a normal human reaction. I've smiled nervously loads after ballsing something up.

He didn't smile nervously, he smiled as if he had just missed a peno in a training match (couldn't care less)

There is nothing more certain than we'll get nothing from Adebayor and that he'll be off in Jan, if we can get a reasonable fee.

Adebayor is all about the money, little else. Imagine you can play a friendly game in the park and piss about, yet get paid around 100k for doing it. That's his mindset.

Lets give him a shot. If he does really well, why sell in Jan? Not when he is an asset. But if hes sorta average, let him go.

Get him fit, get him back ASAP. Absolutely no reason why we should just ignore him. Was god awful last season, but can still chip in with a few goals. It's not like he has refused to play is it? In theory him coming on can give us a completely different dimension up front when we need it.

He'd be such an interesting match up if given a wide spot. Him and Bobby interchanging as and when needed. Whether or not Ade plays is largely down to Ade, imo. I know he's an innocent victim, a misunderstood genius to some but AVB has proven himself to be frighteningly pragmatic already in his short tenure here. If Ade can benefit the team he'll be given a chance.

We'll just have to wait and see...

I don't think anyone who needs to have a reason to not "hate" on any of our players gets to call himself a "true spurs fan" in the first place.

I personally think that if his head is together and he can play to his capacity he is unbelievable and an asset to have

Bollocks. He smiled because he knew the fans (his own) would start racially abusing him again.
