Avb at least should experiment in these games with a 442, with out and out wingers. be more direct. unless He is completely brain dead hed have to see that the current set up is ineffective against the bus parkers. Gotta switch it up, or we will continue to huff and puff to little effect.

I'm sorry but I'm fed up of the stick Walker gets. He is so under rated it's funny. Apart from Zabaleta, there probably isn't a better RB than him in the league. It's funny to see people hailing Baines as the second coming yet his defensive ineptness is totally ignored.

I didn't see Walker getting any stick in that post. The poster simply pointed about the need for another right back. Walker is starting to look seriously knackered and Naughton is either a very slow developer or genuine League 1 standard, so we NEED another right back. BTW, EITHER: since when has Baines been a right back, OR what on earth does Baines have to do with Walker?

He suggested we need a new RB which we don't, there are far more needy positions. And by saying we need a new RB it suggests Walker isn't good enough... He clearly is. And it was a more general statement with regards the stick he gets. Makes me wonder if he actually plays for Arsenal rather us with the amount of criticism aimed at him and I'm also well aware the Baines is a LB but it is exactly the same position except being on the other side of the pitch. But somehow Baines,a distinct lack of defensive ability is somehow forgotten purely because he scores the odd free kick or two.

We don't need any players. What we do need, is a faster tempo. Build up play is too slow and therefore gives the opposition time to recoup.

You simply don't get it, do you? We cannot achieve a Champions League qualifying position with one right back; Kyle walker is not invincible and one bad tackle could put him out for the season. Having cover in a position is not denigrating a player; it is recognition that he can't be guaranteed to play 40 or more games a season. We don't have cover in that position because Naughton is simply not good enough and we don't even have a right back in the Academy. Therefore we NEED another right back, whether it hurts your precious feelings or not.

Would you expect to complete a season with one goalkeeper?

It was obvious that Hull were going to park the bus. We need to shake things up. I would like to see Holtby, Ericsen, Lamela and Townsend in the same side for a game like this

Then we make diet subs when we desperately need a goal. Swapping like for like with 25 mins to go is pointless

as much as adebarndoor is a plonker, if they park the bus his knock downs would have been invaluable. Put Lamela on 1 side, townsend on other and cross for adebarndoor

The funny thing is AVB talked about having patience...but he was concerned enough to make the subs well before he usually does.

I definitely applaud him for that.

was too early to use the 3rd one. Townsend could have had serious injury and wed have been down to 10 men for 8 min or so

Nah, I loved what he did. Symbolically it was very significant as it showed he is susceptible to learning a thing or two. Which is nice.

Winning what he did in portugal, as young as he did, can go to your head very easily and you can begin to think you know it all. This showed he is in fact humbled by reality and bows to it. Massive relief.
